I watched the first episode and yeah I don’t think this is for me lol. I get too invested in these dramas and I can’t stand people who look down on others especially because of money. the attitude of the “rich” family already has my blood boiling so I’ll pass✌🏾

ep17 — Yancheng is actually kinda dumb. Do you really think it’s romantic to ignore your wife and speak about her like this and I’m supposed to believe you’d love me?? this episode just pissed me off lmao everyone is so dumb.

ep18 — the doctors shouting orders while doing absolutely nothing lmaoooo and the zoom effect is supposed to make us think things are chaotic when there’s 3 people in that room just walking back and forth😭😭😭😭 idk how they’re gonna end this show cuz your mom tried to force an abortion on me and then your family inadvertently caused my father’s death. I would want absolutely NOTHING to do with that man omgg.

ep19 — BE FCKN FORREAL. JUST TELL THE TRUTH OMG. like everything she’s doing is making him hate Sheng Mian more which is just making things worse for her when he finds everything out. Does anyone in this have a working brain cell omgg. The grandpa lowkey the realest one lool. What is exactly is her plan? Is she gonna pretend not to be Sheng Mian for the rest of her life?? Also that other weird girl is an idiot. The freak sister told her that Penny = Sheng Mian but all she heard was “pregnant” 🙄

This series is making me think a lot about an ongoing conversation between the chronically online: community. Gwangsook is such a village member in that she's always trying to support those around her and wants everyone to thrive and succeed. Her mom represents most people where they'll gladly be part of the village when it benefits them but once they feel even slightly inconvenienced, they no longer desire that community aspect. While I agree there should be a limit to how much you let yourself be inconvenienced for the sake of community, I don't really see Gwangsook as a doormat the way most people do. Her offering to pay the tuition for the finance brother's daughter was out of consideration and it's not really something she'd be going out of her way for especially since the brewery is his family's after all. All that to say, I don't think anyone's walked over her so I don't understand why she's being painted as someone with no boundaries lol

I don’t think it’s been anything more than 3 months. And I think the writers are gonna start focusing on the new romance so that’s why they don’t show her grieving as much but there are still some moments like the time she got drunk, her always mentioning that she’s keeping the brewery alive because it was his dream etc.

Understandable. Live adaptations sometimes take away some of the most important parts of the source material so you're feeling is valid. I too think it'd be nice to have some new actors !
