These episodes were too much. 1. The king tells the crown prince and princess to love each other and hold true,…
For #1 I think he wanted them to learn from his mistakes. I agree with @gramfer's comment but I think he's well aware of how his conflict with the queen affects everything else and he's hoping his son and the crown princess can have a more peaceful partnership
I think the scene in episode 8 might show more of what he’s feeling. He’s proud of her, loves her strength…
okay so I just finished ep9 and Chaeryeong outright betrayed the queen by telling the king about her informant (the blind guy). Chaeryeong was never fully on the queen's side because she was power hungry and always seeking the king's affection. You know what they say, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

yes and no. she wants to show loyalty to the queen while also being useful to the king which is conflicting. I'm gonna make another comment and mark it as spoiler for ep9 which might give you a better answer
The Queens "loyal" servants are absolutely disgusting. The king and all of those women that he's been with need…
I think the scene in episode 8 might show more of what he’s feeling. He’s proud of her, loves her strength (and maybe does still love her) but he’s jealous and envious of her natural leadership. no offense to him but he does not possess “the demeanor of a king” like she does and I think that feeling of jealousy overshadows any affection he might still have for her. not to mention that she’s a woman and she should be submitting to her husband regardless of if he’s king or not but instead she’s basically more powerful than him
I like the Chairman. I don’t like some of his actions, though. He is such a complex character- this shows in…
THANK YOU. I couldn’t quite articulate why I was still rooting and believing in the chairman. He can be very harsh and cold but I think it’s clear why he’s so distrustful and ready to push people away at the smallest sign of betrayal or lies. He doesn’t always treat others especially those supposedly closest to him in the best way but I don’t think he’s a bad person. and I hope he gets a redemption arc -would love to see him beg for forgiveness though.
Totally agree with you. Episode 21 was just silly. I fast forwarded most of it. Episode 22 is not looking any…
I’ve made it this far so I’ll unfortunately be sticking with it till the end but I get you. I just don’t get what the writers want to get out of this. Is it supposed to show how money changes people? Why does it feel like Gangju’s being punished for being the kindest person in the show and for trying to do something that made him happy? And where’s the romance lmaoo the only “successful” relationship is between the cop brother and his cop wife who are basically background characters. *sigh* It’s gotten boring.
Yeah, dropping this. FL (and her sister) are too naive, perfect scam or cheating targets.
same. It's like they took all the worst qualities of a a daily and combined them to make this. I wanted to give it a few more episodes but I couldn't even finish ep5
