Still got the end of episode 25 on my mind. The sadness when Xihe saw the scars on Xiao Huayong's back. He endured the pain so he could have more time with her. Then the happy kid look on his face when she gave him the braided cord. Xihe wished him a long life as she put it on his wrist. She wants to be with him. I went from smiling to crying in seconds. It's so bittersweet!

Everything I've seen so far suggests a HE. To me, BoP has gotten better and better with each episode. I hope they maintain this upward trajectory all the way to the end and give me the HE I want.

I agree. There is no need to compare the two, or put down one to praise other. The roles required different things and He Yu and Meng Ziyi did a great job portraying their characters.

When the schedule was released I thought it was the bathtub scene I had seen in the trailer. But having seen the teaser it looks like it's not THE bathtub scene.

I tried to avoid the (often heated) debate about Shen Xihe or Crown Prince, but I want to share my understanding of SXH. Neither the CP nor SXH is perfect and both are different... but they will come together. CP has done/sacrificed a lot for SXH so I can understand why many take his side (if you need to take a side).

To me, this is about SXH's growth. This SXH is not the original SXH but a new SXH with a dominant GQZ (although I think this has lessened, which is why there is more change in SXH now). She doesn't know what romantic love is but has developed feelings for the CP, she just didn't recognise it at the time. She was upset when she found out he had concealed everything from her. She tried to control and calculate every step but he managed to deceive her. At that point, she didn't know if she could trust him and thought she made the wrong move so retreated. It's all a strategy (her goal is to obtain power in order to control her destiny and protect her family), and she turned to the chess board to contemplate after Tian Yuan tells her everything the CP did for her.

SXH has been changing, in her way. I think we've reached a turning point and the wedding is coming (tomorrow ep20). From what I've heard and seen, we will witness a special love emerge. I am not going to give up now after rooting for them for 19 episodes. I believe they are worth it.

Did you see the speech Jeremy Xu gave at a recent BoP promo? It was one of the most heartfelt speeches I've come across between two actors. He spoke of his return to acting and that he got tearful when he first saw Meng Ziyi on set, it brought back happy memories of when they last filmed together. Unfortunately, there is hate framed as an opinion. I haven't seen so much hate until I came onto MDL and cdrama social media.

There are some who hold a set opinion of Meng Ziyi and her acting and won't change no matter how good she is in a drama. To me, how a drama and character makes me feel matters a lot and Meng Ziyi's portrayal of her characters had an impact on me since I first saw her last year. I am loving BoP. We can see Shen Xihe's growth and I am excited for the 2nd half.

I loved that scene! The tension was insane. He was a bit crazy. She was cool and defiant. You know she's upset when she called him by his name. The pause and music change when she counters. She is usually composed but there was a change in emotions after she throws the bowl.

What I have seen and read so far indicates a HE. Unfortunately, there are some who think the clip where SXH ascends to the throne with baby means it's a BE and put off watching further. My advice is, if you are interested enough then stick with BoP and just enjoy. I am really looking forward to when they get together and SXH learns to love (the type of love she didn't know) XHY. The best is yet to come.
