So what if he finds out the truth and she dies? So it becomes 2 of the people he loves most dying instead of one and he can't bring back the brother.
And if he paid more attention to the FL when she was telling him about his secret (he repeatedly ask her what she is hiding) probably can link it up the the brother as well. He chose to worry about what will happen between him and the FL if the emperor is the killer - something that is just a suspect.

XY asked the leader of the abductors what they wanted from CY. The leader replied by saying XY acts and talks like his brother and thus he mistook him for his brother earlier. He asked if he wanted to know what happened to his brother. As XY went into deep thought other abductors attacked XY as CY is hanging by the cliff with a rope over a tree. XY managed to subdue them and grabbed the end of the rope. The leader refused to talk as he does not care about living or dying (as their family lives are in the hands of the one that controls them). XY questioned who they are so loyal to and sliced the leader’s chest to reveal the “Qingyun” totem which is the symbol of their loyalty. All this talk while CY was still hanging by a rope and the leader managed to cut the rope and escape. XY dived to save CY from freefall, tree managed to break the momentum. CY apologized for attracting the abductors but XY said it is his fault instead. CY mentioned she will jinx those around her.
True enough, a poisonous snake attacked them and XY got bitten protecting CY. CY immediately performed first aid by sucking out the poison from the wound, vowing not to let XY get hurt. XY fainted and CY applied some medication that her teacher gave her on the wound. XY came down with fever and CY stayed by his side.
CY remembered the ankle bell XY forced her to wear, it was used on slaves to prevent them from escaping. She removed the cosmetics so that the bell can work again. XY at this moment vomited blood and CY was deeply concerned. In his state XY had a bad dream that the emperor gave CY hand in marriage to XC instead of him and CY doesn’t recognize him. He woke up distraught and hugged CY tightly. I agree that it is not unrealistic, that's why I didn't like it. If I am being rationale I will not risk someone I love who is alive just to find out what happened to someone I love who died. If he cannot maintain his composure, the SML who under the influence of aphrodisiac can still maintain his. He is just not mature enough, even when the princess if leaving in episode 20, he chose not to see her off and just protect her by following. Is that being a hero? I think not. If I am a girl I'll rather have the man I love tell me so rather than try to hide his feelings from me.

Actually he realised that he likes her so in the recent episodes mentioned that she is his "injury" (weak spot)... and the FL overhearing the conversation with his aunt part - he said that she is as important as his bro when the aunt suggested that they should separate if the emperor killed his bro. What I don't like about the ML is that he suddenly didn't have a mind of his own... he didn't trust his feelings to he open about the setup and just got influenced by Bai. And the part when the FL decided to be open about her secret, he just shut her out. Isn't him the one to tell her to be open and now he completely just thinks about his own problems. This is just a case the FL loves the ML more drama.

It seems they are indebted to the green dress girl and there was a scene with XY lamenting to CY that does he have to give up his marriage? We haven't actually seen them going through the wedding itself but even so, the marriage in this drama seems to be just like they dating... can just break off anytime. Not that it is ok, but I'd rather see that the heartache coming from a situation than like coming from a lead, like what GT and XY did to their FL.

Agree, though I didn't really think much of her in the beginning, I am really impressed with her after she realises her feelings. She knows what she want and has he own smart opinions. The ML at the point is rather weak, don't really like him. Episode 17 is my least fav so far.

No problem at all if it helps and if I have time. C-Dramas many a time make the FL get into trouble due to stupidity and need others to bail her out. Many times they even "uglify" the FL. For MY and GT, I am actually super crazy about MY and not so for GT LOL. Ues I hope it does why with 15 episodes left, so far no boring moments, and it is really good that she has her own opinion. This ML on the other hand is so easily swayed and not forthcoming at all. He wants the FL to be truthful to her yet doesn't listen to her when she talks.

NN was reluctant because of their previous encounters and LJ explained it was by accident that he saw her in her undergarments at the courtesan house. NN told him that she had worked to please the XY and does not care to practice anymore since XY is not into her. LJ admired her persistence in love.
Cash rewards was given to onlookers for CY’s birthday celebration, forming a crowd. NN is sadden when she saw the couple and LJ claimed that if XY doesn’t want her, he will take her. With that comment he got a tight slap from NN. NN and XY grew up together and during the war she would pray that XY to return safely to marry her. Now he is back he married the princess instead. LJ believed that NN is not really pinning for XY, but it was merely her stubbornness.
