I just read the novel and I get that Gu Yi wants to help Daiwen but girl omg help yourself first. She's trying to mend him but she's the one breaking instead. I'm all for a healing drama but the way Gu Yi has 0 sense of self-preservation and immediately accepted Daiwen back with open arms when he ""got 50% cured (only for him to leave her hanging again when he broke down)" is pissing me off. Gu Yi's a mess and losing her own sense of self trying to save Daiwen from his own problem.
I'm honestly wondering how he's getting all these projects and why he keeps getting paired up with more mature women when he's that one actor that actually looks like a real high school student.
I never read the book but knew that all the books/series are based on the top 4 universities in PH so it's funny to see them depicting the school rivalry in basketball (which is real and it gets worse during the season because the rivalry is so intense you can't even go to the rival school without getting eyed).
She probably got PS because she's not landing female lead roles (as a love interest) despite her years in the industry. Her cute chubby cheeks made her look younger so she fit cute love stories more. But at the same time, getting a PS made her lose uniqueness in her facial features. Now she looks like a typical gangnam ulzzang.
I just realized she calls Kiyong "dad" but the rest are aunties and uncles to her. I also remember in one content, Kiyong calls himself Soyi's dad. I love how they really became like a dad and daughter because of the drama. 🥹
I'm confused. Doesn't this happen irl too? There are also kdramas that portrayed teachers in a bad light because in all honesty, not all teachers in Korea are noble. Fiction reflects reality. While it's true that teachers may be depicted in a bad light on the series, it's also true that instances like that happen irl.
This guy berated Zhao Lusi when she wanted to leave his show to film The Romance of Tiger and Rose. He literally asked her if she thinks her drama would even become a hit and Zhao Lusi could only laugh awkwardly bc yes, it was a low-budget drama with no guaranteed success. But joke's on him because that low-budget drama changed the trajectory of Zhao Lusi's career and catapulted her to fame and got her more opportunities and awards. Then he went on to shade her by calling her green tea, just bc he thinks she owes him her success. This guy is sickening.
For the stupid trolls in some comments, first of all it is normal for an 11-12 year old girl to have her crush…
She literally talked about how her first love ended because she knew he did not reciprocate her feelings and even when they met again as adults, she felt that he still thought of her as a kid and sister that's why she kept telling him she's an adult to break down his boundaries with her. The turning point was the hospital scene wherein he probably realized she's truly an adult because it's her taking care of him now, not the other way around anymore.
To everyone loving this, I recommend reading the novel and manhua. You can read the translated novel on Novel Updates and I'm glad the drama stayed true to the novel so far--except in the novel, there are bed scenes. 😂
The way they depicted how a young girl's first love can end with a heartbreak was so good. I'm a fully grown woman but I cried with Sang Zhi. The way Zhao Lusi acted that airport scene with Chen Zheyuan was so good because every glance and movement was subtle, showing how she's holding herself back and trying to keep herself together so the moment she saw her brother, she just finally broke down.
Not sure if this would still have Zhao Lusi and Wang Hedi as the leads but there's another rumored drama with both of them as the leads. Apparently, the producers are determined to put them in one drama together.
I need this drama to air soon. The last good romantic cdrama I've watched is Time and Him are Just Right. I want to have butterflies in my tummy again just by watching a sweet cdrama. Also, I wonder if this drama's gonna have bed scenes because the novel became pretty steamy in the latter part.
If the second season would push through, they should really keep the same main leads plus their funny guards. This drama became a hit because of zhao lusi and ding yuxi's insane chemistry and their ability to deliver the lines with a comedic timing. I don't think the second season would do well if any of the main leads get replaced by someone else.
On one hand, I want Li Xian to take this but on the other, I hope Yang Chao Yue wouldn't get the FL role because she's pretty bad at acting.
