I just realised we've got 40 episodes of torture, and we're only halfway through. I hate that I can't drop this…
And don't even get me started on him getting married while the other party is in a coma. That's such a low blow 😂. What a sneaky bastard. Why are we even putting ourselves through this toxic love story? We need help 😭

I just realised we've got 40 episodes of torture, and we're only halfway through. I hate that I can't drop this drama no matter how much I hate how Ye Ping Jun acts all holier-than-thou towards Yu Chang Xuan while being so wishy-washy about her own feelings. She keeps stringing him along and creating problems for herself, and poor guy is left drowning in a sea of uncertainty while she's the one holding his head underwater.

If this isn’t absolutely wonderful I’m going to put it on the back burner, my plate is so excitingly full…
I have a mix feeling about it to be honest, those 4 episodes not really gives you a hook right off the bat. I am not sure I like the main leads character presented in this drama. So you should watch and judge yourself

yeah then you can wait for his next drama patiently and hope fully dont watch this one
Well, I can't say much about her journey or how she made her breakthrough in C-drama land, but I'm vaguely aware that she took on quite a few supporting roles before getting lead roles, and I actually appreciate that kind of gradual progression rather than someone seemingly getting roles through connections and suddenly skyrocketing to fame.

But, I feel like my original point is getting lost somewhere in this long discussion. I said I HOPE they bring a different kind of CHEMISTRY this time around, rather than repeating the same dynamic from Blossom. I really like Blossom, but I don't want this drama to rely too heavily on the success of their previous pairing. From what I know, the director's work also played a significant role in making Blossom so good, with the leads' chemistry being the cherry on top.

So, with this drama already generating hype around both lead chemistry, I'm hoping they'll bring something new to the table and show us what else they can do together. Of course, the writing and editing matter too, because chemistry alone can't carry an entire drama. I just hope they can build on the success of Blossom rather than use it as a baseline and expect the same formula to work again. I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to hope for, is it? Anyway, let's calm down. We have two more days to find out

Meng Ziyi has been a very good actress, her peers and people in drama industry praised her acting, even haters…
I can't really speak to the industry's general perception of her acting since I'm not too familiar with that. And if you mean Shen Miao from The Empress Reborn, I guess we'll have to wait and see since it's still upcoming. Personally, though, I find her approach to portraying characters in Blossom, Blossom of Power, and Princess Gambit quite similar. I couldn't even finish Princess Gambit because the story seemed to lose its direction somewhere in the middle.

Again, I feel like your argument doesn't really address the point of my original statement, which was that I hope this drama brings a different kind of CHEMISTRY between the leads rather than repeating the same dynamic they had in Blossom. Don't get me wrong, I really like Blossom, but this drama seems to rely heavily on the leads' chemistry, so naturally, I'm hoping to see something fresh from them. Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi, for example, managed to bring a different kind of chemistry in Road to Splendor compared to Melody of Golden Age. That's the kind of difference I'm hoping to see here. Guess we only have two more days to find out!

I'm guessing part of it is gratitude, and part of it is basically: " Let me go, let me go!!!!OK....WTF, I…
This girl really owes Yu Chang Xuan a lifetime debt at this point. Honestly, her whole sacrifice arc would make so much more sense if she were doing all this for her mother's sake rather than for this so-called pointless childhood crush.

hahahaha ((sarcastic laughter)) This is truly a toxic love story because I'm starting to hate Ye Ping Jun and…
And Jiang Xue Ting's arc? don't get me started. Coming back after ONLY a month makes all that dramatic sacrifice feel so pointless. Was it even worth the theatrics?

hahahaha ((sarcastic laughter)) This is truly a toxic love story because I'm starting to hate Ye Ping Jun and her self-righteous act of pestering Yu Chang Xuan out of some misplaced sense of gratitude. GIRL, that was so last year! A whole fricking year has passed. You should be nowhere near this man, considering how hell-bent you were on escaping his clutches, to the point of trying to end your own life. And now that you've finally gotten your freedom, suddenly you have this irresistible itch to come crawling back?! PLEASE

No need to be salty, can’t a man hope? A good fan should support their fave’s growth instead of defending the same predictable acting. Real support means wanting their growth, not making excuses for them sticking to familiar roles.

I really hope they bring a different kind of chemistry this time around, rather than repeating similar dynamic from Blossom. Honestly, I haven't seen much improvement in Meng Zi Yi's acting, while I've grown to like Li Yun Rui even more. #JustRanting

question timeeee, someone enlighten mee
1. What's the deal with the brother-in-law? I swear I'm not trying to be racist, but I'm struggling to tell his wife and his sister (?!) apart. Who's that woman again? Is she also an in-law of the Yu family? Are the in-laws siblings or having an affair?! I get that they're all there for revenge, but I'm so confused about their relationship.
2. Director Gu is also into Ping Jung, right? Is he the actually second male lead? Because I'm SO here for a complicated, forbidden romance scandal ahahahaha

After 42 episodes and a kid, Li Jin Qi still hasn’t made it onto the list of things Xu Lanxiang actually lives…
I understand that this is a women’s emancipation kind of drama. In fact, this might be the most woman-centered drama I’ve ever watched, straight-up beating Flourished Peony. And honestly, I LOVE how women are portrayed here. I was even cheering when we got that epic slap at the wedding.

But here’s where my feelings get complicated. As much as I appreciate that Lan Xiang doesn’t need a man to define her life, after everything she and Li Jin Qi have been through, I can’t help wondering… if she could turn back time, would she still this life with him? And honestly, it feels like the answer might be no.

That’s why I’m still ranting about Episode 39. We were so invested in their relationship, watching them slowly confront their differences and figure out what this marriage meant to them, only for the story to skip the emotional development that should have connected all those struggles to where they eventually ended up. Especially with a sudden pregnancy.

As an independent woman myself, I actually love that Lan Xiang has a life beyond her husband. But I also find myself longing to see the happiness that comes from sincerely choosing each other, not because it's convenient or respect for each other, but because they genuinely want to be together. Yes, Lin Jin Qi was a red flag for forcing this marriage in the beginning. But his years of devotion and atonement do eventually work for me. I just wish the drama had shown Lan Xiang’s emotional journey with the same depth, so that after all those years, I could truly feel why she chose him too.
