I watched this in 2015 and I loved it. Recently looked back and realised the actor I really liked in this drama (Kido Gao as He Xiaodong) is Yu Wenzhou in The King Avatar!
Edit: I just realised the female lead is Lei Shen Ni Ni in Love O2O! Glad to see that the new actors in this random indie drama I watched while it aired are doing well :) Hope more people manage to dig up and watch this gem :)
I chanced upon this drama and decided to watch it randomly. I was not expecting such a good watch! The mystery was good; I finished it in one day (with 2x speed) and am very happy with this surprise gem :) The drama plot line is interesting and suspense/thriller was done very well, especially in the first few episodes. It had me hooked and spooked and I couldn't help clicking 'next episode' while being creeped out in the middle of the night.
The whole premise is rather refreshing and I haven't seen much of these themes in chinese dramas. I agree with one of the comment saying that the main male lead (cop) is rather boring because he's so upright. But the rest of the side characters are gems! From Dr Qin, a good guy & responsible doctor who is clear-headed but also struggles with hatred for people who bullied his wife, to often misunderstood characters like Er Er and even the flawed Mo Li who 'makes the best decisions for her daughter, Guo Guo' as well as Chen Li who is ruthless but full of love for Haitao. Also, Xie Ying - a good person who made a bad decision under duress and now have to live with guilt. Of course, my favourite character got to be Ning Yu (because the actor is so yummy! Can't believe I have never seen/heard of him). Many realistic aspects of human are covered in this drama. Some got redemption, others didn't.
I'm surprise this drama was not more well known and I would recommend this drama :)
Edit: Dai Xu (actor for Ning Yu) was apparently in Ordinary Glory with Mark Chao and Bai Jingting? I watched that drama and have zero impression on seeing him... or even his character, Chen Zhan...

same, i was in a drama slump for THE LONGEST TIME (like MONTHSSSSS) and then i watched this and now i'm like - what do i do with my life now that it's over????
I just finished watching the first episode and my tears are streaming and streaming non-stop. The live action has finally started! Looking at Ye Xiu once again from the start after reading the novel..... I don't even know how to describe my emotions. Yang Yang is doing a surprisingly good job and asdfghjkl I don't even know how to translate my emotions into words anymore.
Towards the end of the drama, I am flabbergasted to find out that (part of) the drama was filmed in Singapore. The university and scenery shots (towards the end) were from Singapore while other portions were in China. I have no idea why this would happen but I believe this might be the reason for the gaping holes in the end. They probably took some random extra footage in an attempt to wrap it up or something.
If you haven’t watch this drama, I prefer you not to. This is basically Love O2O with extra useless, meaningless,…
I understand. I'm so lost by the last episode. It was basically repeating scenes from past episodes and revoicing them to make it sound like it's a new episode.... But everyone can see it was the exact same scene used...... I almost thought it was a problem with the episode... But alright.....

When was it revealed to Xiao Ci and the rest that Lu Yu Chen is the ....Xue Gao (the best player in the game -- i forgot the name lol)? I don't remember it being shown but the next moment (ep 13/14?) when he wanted to step down as the guildmaster, everyone seems to have known his identity.
Loving this show thus far (even though there seems to be some disconnection and jumps in the story line -- look at spoiler comment). Just wondering though, why does it seem that the second male lead has waaaaaaaay more screentime than the male lead? (Not that I really mind but....)
I still remember every episode of Qiao kimi and Xu lu. I just can't believe he's dead ....
It's still hard to accept it even though it's been more than a year... He was so bright and brilliant in this show. Unfortunately, it seemed that he didn't like the image this show gave him, as revealed in past interviews...
