Is this drama worth the watch? I've never watched a Chinese drama before but I have a few on PTW-list.
Yes it is! It's sickeningly sweet though so consider yourself warned. To better the experience, go read the novel 'A Smile is Very Alluring', there are several completed english translation around. Reading the novel made me love the drama so much more.
I wonder how far they will go with Hao mei and KO lol they are definitely a thing though.
Omg it seems like they are going on the path of the sequel featuring Hao Mei & KO. Since everything is settled... is it possible that ep 29 & 30 will feature all the epilogues, including those of them two!
Ahhh, only 5 more episodes left :( That's too little! This is so addictive, I have never managed to religiously catch a currently airing china drama (because of the 2 episode daily spam style) but this drama not only managed to make me do that, I feel that 2 episodes everyday is not enough. I need more!!!
Loving the drama so far. Each episode seems to fly past. I was doubtful of Zheng Shuang before this because of all the negative stuff I heard about her but I think she is killing it as Bei Weiwei. I love how the drama stays true to the adaption and yet add interesting details to further develop the story. I'm going to follow this all the way to the end (even though waiting everyday for 2 new episodes is still a torture).

A lot of the time, the only 'wrong' that villains in historical dramas did was believing in the ideology/leader who didn't win. Honestly, the heroes probably did their fair share of evil but they emerged as the winners in the end so nobody really blames them much. To the villains, it could have turned out either way. With a twist of luck, they might have been the ruling party instead. And in that case, their image will be beautified and the wrongdoings they did becomes more forgiveable because "it was necessary". Also, I would assume lives back then are not as precious and there weren't as much "human rights" so killing is fine. Plus, your life will probably be considered worthless unless you are of royal blood.
Super hilarious, loved the movie. Lee Min Ho was hot but Wallace Chung hands down stole the award of 'my favourite character' - he was golden. There really isn't much strong plot going on but the movie was a breeze and really enjoyable. Perfect funny moments that made me literally LOL in the cinema. Watch this! :)
