It's been a while since I finished this drama but I think I can finally put a finger to why I enjoyed it. Firstly, I came in with almost no expectations because of all the claims that it's “overrated" and "trash" (which I think is an overstatement itself). Secondly and mainly, the lens I view this drama through. If you are hoping for a lovely romance story, then this will probably fall flat because honestly, there's so many better realistic romance dramas out there BUT if you come in looking for a comedy and pure entertainment with cute eye candies, I think you would enjoy this a lot, like I did :)
At less than 5 minutes each episode, it's a bit too short so don't expect any plot or even fanservice/sweet moments. The music for the first ep really got to me though, fab lyrics.
This drama was overrated and I was disappointed when I started watching. The start was pretty abrupt and filming/editing was done with very amateurishly. There were also a few cliche plots thrown in. The only redeeming factors are the interaction between the couple after they got together (super sweet and An Ziyan is so charming ahhhh, I want a piece of him) and a cool side character (the ex-girlfriend). Music was pretty good too when it was included but a lot of the times, I just found it to be too quiet and empty without any.
TLDR: Watch for sweet interaction between the leads but don't expect a quality film.
I thought that the korean version was better developed and the plot was clearer and made more sense but this version will always have a special place in my heart. This made it into my 'Favourite Drama' list while the korean one didn't simply because Akiyama-san and Nao-chan embodies the spirit of Liar Game and Liar Game would not be as special without them. (I do like the 'baddies' from the k-version more though. The Host and Jamie aced their roles and had better character development.)
I didn't like it the first time I watched it but it was reaired on TV so I gave it another chance and I found myself glued to the TV at unearthly hours just to watch this. So much cuteness and sweetness!
Love love love this. Completely smitten with Nicholas Teo after this drama and Xiu Jie Kai was oozing charm non-stop. The story between the sisters was decent too and quite heartwarming.
Not sure why the ratings are so low but I absolutely loved this. I like the story of an ordinary housewife stepped up into becoming one of the heroes around.
Vic was just oozing charisma throughout this movie. A bit less fluffy and sweet than the usual rom-com and plot was not very well developed, probably due to the short length of the movie at 82minutes, but still passable. Worth a catch, especially if you like Vic Zhou :)
Marathoned this in 24 hours because I just had to get to the end! I like the delivery of this more than the Jap version because I found it more logical and characters had clearer motives too. The flow of the show was better too. Even though most of the games were directly lifted from the Jap version, I don't find much trouble with it because my main focus was on the backstory of Woo Jin. I think the Korean version tied in the main characters more well in that sense. Would recommend, even for those who liked the Jap version! :)
Watched this with english subs and enjoyed this thoroughly. Pretty short movie at 105 minutes so it's a good watch if you have less than 2 hours to spare. Comical and entertaining at face value, but if you think deeper, beyond the surface, this movie actually touches on quite a few issues which serves as food for thought. I would classify this a youth coming-of-age movie where most viewers identify themselves with Dong Zijian's character (Wu Wei) but really, the focus of the movie is more than that.
Not the best quality but there's english subs
TLDR: Watch for sweet interaction between the leads but don't expect a quality film.
