The comments here are pretty positive but the two reviews spell nightmare. If you guys think the drama isn't as bad as it's stated, shouldn't you downvote the reviews so more people wouldn't be scared away?
Enjoyable movie (watch it on viki and LOL at the user comments) which left me wondering "wtf did I just watch" at the end. The watching process was cool and for a 2002 movie, this exceeded my expectations by a lot. I cringe at the fashion and quality t-dramas filmed in 2007 despite my love for the actors so I think quality-wise, this was a great movie that doesn't go old. While I didn't laugh heartily at the "bad humour" of the movie, I can see why others appreciate it. I thought that the 'deep' part at the end was quite superficial though, and I didn't enjoy it as much. Worth a watch when you are bored but go in with an open mind in order to enjoy this.
Maybe I had expectations that were too high going in to the movie, I felt it was underwhelming. But still a good watch. Even though the style and fashion was horrible, the acting was intense and great, especially Ethan Ruan's. For a 140minute film, I felt they could pack more depth in but the story about brotherhood is heartwarming and real. I liked the different personalities and even till the end where things turn ugly but I guess real life is like that too. Still, catch it if you have the time! It's worth it for Mark Chao, Ethan Ruan, Rhydian Vaughan and their bromance (turned bad)!!!
I rewatched this and I cried yet again. A poignant film, I must say. The tale of brotherhood in an era of change, alongside comical as well as heart wrenching moments that hits close to home. Impactful.
All these comments is making me reconsider whether to continue this drama (still stuck on ep 5) because I do think that this drama is bad (for now) but all that eye candy!!!
