Ok, the show gets A LOT better from EP3 onwards.

TaeTee are great together and the plot is good. They really went too much into med stuff on the 1st two eps that it turned me away.

About the character called Phri, I really hated her annoying behavior chasing after Nat like that. She was a stalker…
Did this pass on Netflix’s subs? I really don’t remember. I’ve seen a LOT they removing the racist comments characters make on Thai drama from the subtitles, specially BLs.

Also Netflix subs toned down A LOT the homophobic slurs on this to a point it didn’t even make sense with what was shown. It’s like they’re trying to hide some stuff from international audience.

PS: I don’t if it’s just my perception, but for me this “the whiter the better” thai culture is becoming worse as the years pass by. Every new idol/actor generation has fairer skin than the previous. Too bad :(

I'm so tired of reading that the ending of the show is somehow a drawback for the LGBT community. Yes, I understand…
To be more specific, a “””sad””” ending in the eyes of a part of the audience for a non human character (cause the character himself was happy).

This show had the most strong and correct address of GAY representation of all Thai media I’ve ever seen (and trust me it was a lot). And all gay characters got a happily ever after ending. Oh, the the show was made by gay men.

People here are just plain bitter.

What's stranger is that Tanka Kei was WAY more famous than Akaso and he kissed multiple times in OL: Love or Dead and In The Sky (I'm counting only the products after his career blown up).

Oh, and the success of Thai BL is linked to the actors pretending to date outside the series (aka fan service). Cause CH3 is such a traditional channel, they didn’t know how to handle properly the promotion of Teddy Bear to BL fans. InnJob made very few works and promotions focused on shipping, it all begun after the series was already airing. While shooting there was so much material of Job with Judo, Inn with Tee. That’s something GMMTV would never do for example. They clearly aimed at older audience who doesn’t care about this.

It not having simulcast WW is another factor. It had limited release on Netflix in a few asian countries. We can’t compare it with séries like cutie pie or KinnPorsche which had worldwide simulcast on more open platforms where you can watch it for free.

But if you compare Teddy Bear to other traditional CH3 shows (their own shows, not series that bought a slot there), it had way more online engagement.

It was a happy ending for all humans. Stop tagging this show as homophobic, it is not.

Was just wondering compared to other BL’ show how popular was it? I have the feeling that Cutie Pie attracted…
If we take TV ratings as standard, Teddy Bear was the biggest BL TV ratings ever (3x more than KP or CP for example). But BLs never were known for being good at ratings (with extremely rare exemples such as SOTUS and 2gether) and for the time slot and channel, the 1.1 rating Teddy Bear had was a total flop (usually dramas of this time slot have 2-2,5 ratings).

The success of a BL drama is mostly measured in Thailand considering online engagement and views on rerun online plataforms. Despite the disappointment with TV ratings, CH3 was really happy with the repercussion online (breaking into Netflix Thailand top4, which is usually dominated by k dramas) and reviews it had.

Teddy Bear may have reached more people outside the BL bubble in Thailand. while KP and Cutie Pie are definitely more popular within BL fans.

Your POV is very overdramatic LOL

I can’t see the tragedy in all this. Unfair for Tofu? Yeah, maybe. He’s was insecure If Nut loved him and cause everyone said to him how amazing Tarn was, but in the end Nut shows how much he loved Tofu but writing a story about him too.

All I can see is a person who loves 2 at the same time and everyone is ok with that. Tofu definitely didn’t look sad at the Finale. He may have developed some human emotion, but at the end he still thinks as a Teddy Bear.

They explicitly say this a bunch of times in the finale actually
That Nut loves both of them and both Tofu and Tarn are fine with that

It can’t take This ending cause it really looks like the series was chopped and it wasn’t intended to end at 15 :(

I hope views go higher and they decide to make a S2. It was doing ok at the Sunday timeslot but the Saturday slot really killed the ratings.
