As for Cherry Magic, wow, how frustrating was that? It was obvious that the actor had a contract clause issuing…
People have been bashing Keita for really no reason.
I mean, we know LDH didn’t put any clause about it and Keita has always been very thoughtful on his interviews and he chose to audition for Cherry Magic.
We know Akaso’s agency doesn’t prohibits gay kisses either, but we know that he was offered the role and only agreed to do it cause a senior reminded him how successful Tanaka Kei became after Ossan’s Love. If the no kiss in Cherry Magic was really due an actor imposition, it seems it was Akaso and not Keita.
It was a very good ending, but it made me dislike episodes 4 and 5. If this was the ending intented, I wish they had included a more smooth Kiyoi changing
Some non jajapnese people come to japanese shows with their standarts of what is a good representation without even realising that this is a FOOD DRAMA about a MIDLE AGED COUPLE.
There's never skinship in this kind of drama, straight or not. This is based on a SEINEN manga, if you come expecting BL troupes obviously you'll get frustrated. Shiro and Kenji are a typical midle age couple on japanese television.
I didn't feel it at all, and I like Singto. Batting your eyes and giving puppy-dog looks is what 1950s child stars…
Maybe you’re forgetting this is a asian series aimed at women. We’d never see a Ten Tosatid kind of gay here. It will always pend to the more “clean cute” style and Singto’s character is completely convincing.
This series isn’t receiving the justice it deserves. It’s well directed and acted and it is not the toxicity people are telling it is.
Yes, an obsessed and a douchbag. But that’s it. I even find Kiyoi more likable than Hira. I think people have came into Japanese BL cause of Cherry Magic and KeiKoi and thought that this was all about it.
This isn’t a disservice as TharnType or History4, it’s just a story of questionable people getting to know each other. And Japan has been doing some very good BL with this approach (Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese one of the bests this year)
I believe you guys have a narrow minded view of what a killer gay should look like.
Yes, singto’s styling is pending more to a cute charming dude, but have you seen his confidence while flirting in the Club? I was completely sold as he being a seducer. If you guys have ever been out on the night you would’ve known that the biggest maneaters rarely are the built strong dudes, but the ones who have more confidence.

But as a sequel to a love story people want to see a couple being worked rather than only one of them.
But still a nice show to watch
They woudl benefit a lot from the 25 minute japanese style.
I don't think it will be an actual BL.

But EP4 preview has me shook. I need it ASAP
Their lips touched, but the way the scene was shot make it seems they didn’t, the trembling camera also hahaha
I hope there’s a better one later on
I couldn’t handle his scenes with Foei
11/12 episode 9 (it’s tagged on the preview as “last chapter”)
TV Guida says it will end on 18/12, so we’ll still get 10 episodes with story, but it’s unclear if they’ll tag it as a spin off/Special
That's how the company advertised it, it's based on the most successful japanese BL series ever.

Even Double Mints still being a little extreme, it’s closer to what we have in My Beautiful Man.
PS: I like all the series/movies mentioned here hahahaha
Only Japan knows how to make toxicity work
