Give it a shot! I had some doubts, but I think the first episode did very well setting up the series!
You know that thai BL has been known for its silliness only cause the companies were broke and didn't had the money to adapt novels that weren't like that, right?
Plus: you know that Killing Stalking, Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, Saezuru tori wa habatakanai and Double Mints undoubtly are BLs and none of them are romcoms neither lighthearted. Being light hearted/fluffy/silly has nothing to do with BL, it's about being a light hearted BL.
BL is a large and diverse demographic to reduce it to happy fantasies (there are plenty of dark fantasies or even realistic fantasies). If that's your prefference it's perfectly normal, but don't use BL as a synonym to that.
It funny how people are picky with any show that has a GMM tag and just ignore how bad are most thai BL LOL
This one is the best done productionwise in thailad in the last year after itsay. Chill guys. I know there's been a trend of hating anything GMMTV related (and they gave plenty of reasons to make people act like that), but remember that a series is more about it's director/producer than the company. If there's been shitty shows from them coming out recently (Tonhon and MGAYG), that's on the careless director's fault.
Aof is the best thai bl director (if we don't consider Kuno BL director since he only made ITSAY) and he's been preparing this show for 3 years, so chill.

I understand your question and the arguments presented there by foreigner, but it's very reductionist this thought that BL can't be realistic or serious. I'm not talking about litigious series like pinoy ones, but there are plenty of highly acclaimed BL manga that have pretty realistic storylines/chracthers. Although I agree with almost all that it's said there, this argument really seems like it came from a 90s discussion about BL hahaha The market has expanded a lot including in Japan and there are a lot of different kinds of aproach.
The 1st episode of 1000 stars was more foccoused on the background of the charachters, apart from the bonus scene after credits no major "BL moment", but the show is based on a highly acclaimed BL novel.
They tried to do more than they could. It was ok, nothing major, but that ending was very deux ex machina. Hope they make a follow up exploring everything they throw under the rug.
I REALLY liked this movie! It's indeed predictable, but I liked how they made it work.
In thai BL the only affeminate gay acceptable is the dull/dumb/quiet/shy boy without any major atributes that the nearly perfect tall and muscular laconic athlete fall with. It never made sense to me. This movie though show show us how the so far straight guy discovers himself with the cute gay boy.
So is this 100% confirmed to be BL, or just bromance? I keep hearing conflicting things.
It's based on a BL manga, the author calls it BL and it is serialized in a BL magazine. But so far no interview/press release of the movie has called it BL (Cherry Magic didn't either, but Cherry Magic's main plot is them getting together they didn't need to adress that).
Japanese media tends to be very explicit about it's content, so that's why some people think it might cut the relationship between the leads. We'll only know when it is shown in the cinemas.

Let's see. It seems that Hwang Da Seul will be the director to watch when it comes to korean BL
The movie did a very good job giving it a story
Too bad, they were good to each other at the wrong time. But I'm sooooo happy for Stud.
PS: AJ and Plustor make such a cute couple. Too bad we probably won't see them together in the future.
This is the most convincing jock x outsider dinamic ever made in live action BL

It's not a new story, but very well made.
