It’s a different director..one who has directed some really good shows so I have a bit of hope..not going to…
I believe they'll wait till they lift the ban on fighting/kissing scenes for the shooting. Other series who will start shooting next month they said they will put the kissing scenes as the last on the queue hopping that till there the ban is lifted...
But I've seen someone saying that you can shoot, but they have VERY strict conditions.
what is that even supposed to mean that its not some LGBT show? because isn't bl just gay shows aimed at woman
That is the flaw of your argument. BL IS NOT AN UTOPIA! There are plenty of BLs not centered around romance! See Double Mints as an exemple, it’s a run away story about two hit man that once were in love. Killing Stalking isn’t a utopian romance either, there are plenty of horror BL novels being adapted into drama right now. BL is a demographic that doesn’t translate into live action works!
For an exemple, even thought Ossan’s Love isn’t marketed as BL, it is considered a landmark for the live action BL genre in Japan. Love of Siam wasn’t marketed as BL either, but it is considered the father of thai BL. You can’t change the meaning people from the countries that coded the name gave to it. It’s the same thing when westerns try to differentiate BL, shounen ai and lemon. This just doesn’t happen in asia. At the same time that Milk isn’t a BL, nor is Fujoshi, Ukkari Gei ni Kokuru, a drama centered on a gay boy and his fujoshi friend, and we all agree on that. But what if I told you that a classic Japanese story has recently a new adaptation into live action, this time changing the mistress of the male lead to another man and NHK (the biggest TV network in Japan) called the show “a new BL twist”? The story is completely tragic with a lot to say about homophobia.
Yes LGBT and BL overlaps and aren’t exactly the same, but now in Asia is becoming each time more blurry cause of the success of the live actions.
I still stand by the theory that this happened because the director and the script writers are straight hahahaTHey…
And I do believe people are more picky with Bright cause of his resting b*tch face, but if you see Win's videos from 2019 you'll see who is the real over the top masculine stiff dude between both of them hahahaha
He just sold another image from him to the public and everyone bought it. There were plenty interviews were Win didn't know what to reply cause before he didn't understand a thing about m/m relationships, while Bright has grown up with a gay uncle around him.
I like your analysis. If an actor is fundamentally uncomfortable doing scenes of m/m intimacy, he'd have to be…
I don't know if GMMTV artist have enough power to negotiate clauses of kissing such as famous thai actresses, but there's a rumor surrounding teen GMMTV shows that the producer/ceo limits the number of kissing scenes. Their only shows with more skinship is usually only one more mature show per year, last year was Boy for Rent, in 2018 Friendzone, and so goes on.
I’m not sure the problems between Bright and Win can be blamed on the director, the editor, the writer, casting…
I still stand by the theory that this happened because the director and the script writers are straight hahaha THey just didn't realized that there was something missing. And Champ is indeed not a good director, just see the gap of quality of PeteKao between KMA and DBK.
I believe BW weren't coached well, some of the most awkward scenes were the 1st shots and while in other series the couples do workshops for almost a year before filming, BW mete only 3 months before shooting begun. But the latter scenes shot, such as the one in the apartment they were clearly more confortable with each other.
Interesting thoughts here. So I have a question for you. If a BL couple is not delivering the desired performance…
Sun and Mork are explicitily reversible. But I believe they were the only one that was showcased on the series, others only on the novels or even worse, its a "I love you so much that I painfully will let you top me" such as it is with FighterTutor and GuHai BaiLuoYin.
The couple from crossing the line is reversible, but it's only stated on the novelization that isn't even done by the scriptwriter hahahaha
what is that even supposed to mean that its not some LGBT show? because isn't bl just gay shows aimed at woman
This overlap happens in thailand too, while they only consider Y series what you call a BL, they do call all gay couples in any kind of lakorn y ship.
Yes, there is a difference, but as time goes by and BL becomes more and more mainstream, it becomes blurry. BTW, asian countries don't have the idea of "lgbt show". If there's 2 men in love media might call it BL.
About the example psycho milk used (this site is terrible btw), of course a telenovela like My Husband's Lover wouldn't be a BL LOL Neither a movie like Fuccboys where they characther do sex only for money.
What I'm saying is that the tradicional media from any asian country when BL becomes mainstream, they start to call any gay relationship BL or a similar term.
When you say that BLs don't deal with strugles, maybe you're seeing the old works of the genre in the 90s (which is the main inspiration for thai BL). BL per si is just a demographic for comics and this classification does not translate very well to live action series.
I really don't understand this! Make Our Days Count weren't Viki Originals and they were released already with…
But Make Our Days Count e Because Of You weren't made in partneship with kocowa, neither is Where Your Eyes Linger. Just as Because of You this is done by Rakuten TV Japan and both shows I mentioned would come out already subbed.
what is that even supposed to mean that its not some LGBT show? because isn't bl just gay shows aimed at woman
Applying this difference to live action is a lil bit flaw. Even in Japan, media outlets tend to use BL for everything that has some kind of gay romance related, even though when we talk about comics they are very strict to what is a BL and not.
While in Thailand they do call only those more "fantasy" shows Y (the term they use for BL there), they do you "Y twist", "Y ship" for anything gay romance related. And actually, if you go through mangas categorized as BL, you'll see it isn't necessarily romantic and/or a positive depiction of romance.
BL is a demographic in Japan, when people outside from this demographic and country use, it becomes a little blurry what is and what is not BL.
But I've seen someone saying that you can shoot, but they have VERY strict conditions.
The best part of him directing is that he always put a gay treament on the BL script, his series are just the best of both worlds.

The BTS released after the finale shows better takes, it was just a poor editing choice.
THey just didn't realized that there was something missing. And Champ is indeed not a good director, just see the gap of quality of PeteKao between KMA and DBK.

Why the hell a korean viki original takes so long?
