It is a BL. The company who shot, every company who is selling this, the company of all other actors calls this…
Let's hope for it. It's the same thing in every market. In Thailand they didn't think it was profitable till Love Sick, Japan only started investing in BL on mainstream media after the huge success of Ossan's Love. The producer even cited OL's case. I think it might have a good impact there.
It is a BL. The company who shot, every company who is selling this, the company of all other actors calls this…
It's just the company of one actor who is hidding this series. But the producer already said it is a BL and it's not aimed on the Korean market. He hopes in the future the success of this abroad can bring more investment to BL in sk.
It is a BL. The company who shot, every company who is selling this, the company of all other actors calls this…
Nah, sk is very conservative, specially cause they have a high % of neo pentecostal christians. They go protest inside the pride parade there, it's terrible.

Korean journalism has an informal rule that they never say if someone or some place is LGBT related cause it may cause them to lose their family, being targeted by religious groups and lose jobs.
But recently a another covid outbreak happened and it was related to gay clubs in Itaweon. The region wa croded and there are clubs for every taste there. But the media didn't followed their rule and put every where that the man was in a gay club. since then, there has been a gay hunt in s korea again. After a few days they took down the terms LGBT and gay from the articles, but now the damage is done.
He publically admitted to being in a 7 year relationship with a minor (I saw something saying they were 13-15…
From what I researched, in Phillipines there are 2 laws: one that no mater what you say or the minor say, it's rape (relations with someone bellow age of consent, which there is 12 yo), other that it's something like "consentual relatioship with someone above the age of consent, but bellow legal age". He admited that he was charged with the later one.
Very morably questionable, but I don't believe it is charged as pedophilia (in my country there's no crime for "pedophilia", just crimes related to such as rape of vulnerable, Child grooming or child p*rn), so I don't know how it works there. But yeah, he confessed he had a relationship with a minor, but he insist he isn't a pedophile cause he said it was an isolated case LOL.
He is indeed not trustable, but from what I've seen of pinoy reaction to this series, it's been very divisive, some like the theme, others don't cause of politics, and other despise the creator.
A japanese interview with the producers of this show explained a lot the non existing Korean promo of this: they are aiming the international market to convince the domestic companies that BL is a genre worth to invest. A little like how some small companies market their idol groups internationally so their success abroad may bring recognition in South Korea.
It's a little sad that they are depending on bring international success for this, but at least the producer is explicit about this being a Boys Love and that they want to make a BL marketed for korean audience in the future. I knew Korean LGBT producers had to go through a lot of hardships to fund their series/movies, but I thought that a show with an actor from a known entertainment company wouldn't be facing the same =/
I would just like to raise the attention that this is not the first Korean BL, there is a small independent studio…
Their short movies are soooooooo good. I wish they had more recognition :( They always say that investors sail away when they know it's a lgbt related content, but they do really good with very small resources
We've been knew that the end game couple was the chef with the PD, but the other guy is a main lead too and they…
Cause korean press has an unofficial rule that they can't say that a person and/a place is LGBT related, but the 1st news that came out explicitly said it was on gay bars. After a lot of complains they omitted this, but the damage was already done.
it's a bromance can't say that i am surprised but this is rather disappointing.

Fantagio is just doing damage control cause their idol is doing a BL in the middle of the Itaewon scandal and don't want to associate him with gay stuff.
I believe it has more to do with korean style of skinship between men. Even in straight dramas the characthers would kiss each other, they just had problem when the characther is actually gay. Korea being Korea LOL
This is surprisinly good! The production value is off the charts, unmatched by any other gmmtv show (only The gifted is on par with this, but both were made in partnership with the same company).
It frightens us a little cause we have NO IDEA were the plot will go, but I hope we get a HIStory My Hero kind of stuff.

A few weeks ago a man went clubbing in Itaewon and spread covid to a very high number of people on the 3 main gay clubs there. Since then there has been a gay hunt in Korea, people getting outed, gay NGOs message are resembling a lot the Hiv crisis (“please don’t hide, get tested and protect your family”). Conservative Christians are hyping onto this to blame LGBT people for covid.
I think people are just missing the whole point of the movie. This movie is above all about LOVE. Yes it starts…
I like the pre twist of this one better, but the Korean movie handled the reincarnation better.
This one tackled so poorly pedophilia that it turned me off on the 2nd half of the movie. But the ending sequence on the train and the beach was beautiful.
The promo around Ohm's characther is with the girl, Pam

The director of Friend Zone 2 even said he doesn't know what to do cause the 1st scene of the show will be a sex scene hahahaha
