I was already hanging on by a thread with Memories of the Alhambra, but now I’m almost completely convinced…
"Hyun Bin’s character is directly linked to the murder of his former best friend" - it was not classified as murder due to missing wounds or cause of death related to murderous intent, so they did not look for suspects.
But all the other points I agree, writing was very weak.
I thought this was going to be a cute, fluffy, wholesome but awkward love story. This was not that. Very realistic…
I'd be okay if they did not end up together, but the way it was done was horrible. Just few seconds before the end they went "oh hey btw they are not together".
It is because Korean dramas are losing their authenticity and keeps getting westernized yknow like Hollywood style…
That's right. Though the whole reason I am watching kdramas is because they are NOT like the superficial Hollywood slop. I hope the westernizing stops.
This was two very well written stories which I did not want to watch together. Mid-way they started telling the flashback story and took us away from main characters for half of the season.
Romance? like bro make sense atleast, search for romance in a romcom not here
I don't really like the shows where romance is the main focus (its too much). But other genres where romance is mixed in just a little bit as a side-plot are my jam.
It would've been 8.5/10, but then the last 20 minutes happened.
It was such a weird ending. MC lost the fight and even his memories. They won randomly thanks to a tape found by side characters. Very undeserved resolution.
Honestly , I think the ending was perfect. Gihun didn’t just survive, he proved something deeper. The Frontman…
The show teaches us that in the face of greed and injustice you can either kill yourself (MC), give up and live your life ignoring it (the cop) or run away (the north-korean woman). Or you can act morally and die as a result (the trans-person).
This is so well written. The characters are complex and they drive the plot, not the other way around. I was surprised with this level of writing for an action series.
But all the other points I agree, writing was very weak.
They didn't save the show's stupid writing, but made me at least finish it.
