This was a fun read and a really thoughtful article. I didn't feel like you had any bad intentions with mentioning watching on legal sites. I'm sure most people can and will if they have the means to do so. But I love the rest of the suggestions as they're really simple and most fans do unconsciously support in that way already. I think search + posts is what k-pop fans do best at. How they make topics related to their idols trend. Then sites like Soompi and Dramabeans have come a long way and MDL is popping lately (or at least the time that I've been here). Don't underestimate the small stuff is what I'm getting at ;)
Jane Zhang and Yu Kewei are awesome singers. I don't think I've heard of Terry Lin though, any good recs for a…
It's a pity that Terry Lin doesn't do many OSTs because he has the perfect voice for historical/xianxia/wuxia/etc. dramas. I'm excited to explore more of his originals and other works :)
I love it, thanks for sharing links! I actually really really like Yuan Yawei's OST for Bloody Romance! One of my favorite OSTs even though I didn't finish the drama xD
... and also my love for the song tend to come from the series or vice versa, also there are singers that I also…
Okay, I just realized after searching on my Spotify that I do have some songs of her in my playlist ^^" I tend to know songs vs. artist names more through Spotify since it lists their names in Chinese characters. She also sang the OST for Legend of Fuyao, which I loved! Thanks for commenting, now I can connect a name to her songs <3
Yey glad to see Chen Xue Ran there! Literally my favorite Chinese OST singer. Each of his song sounds different…
Chen Xue Ran's music encapsulates a true composer's sound or at least his sound. From what I've listened to so far, from both grander ones like 'We Won't Be Falling' to passionate songs like 'Nameless Generation,' he's able to intertwine those themes into his songs and make one feel them - like a journey itself. Hearing his instrumental composition pieces in Guardian makes me want to hop into the show a lot - I just don't have time on my plate.
Songs like Polar Star, Long Day, and Jiang Lin proves that he can just about compose and sing about any theme and produce the best results out of it. Thanks for dropping this comment and showing some love for Chen Xue Ran. I do hope others keep an eye for his works as well!
I have some contenders and different ideas in mind for K-drama OSTs. Not too sure if I'll move forward with creating…
Lol, I appreciated this comment so much! The reason why I'm not too psyched about doing a Korean edition is that I haven't been frequenting Kdramas these past several years. I'm always looking out for new releases but never watching them (only a few here and there). I still listen to Korean music but just thought it wouldn't be fitting to do a OST ver of this. I love music though so I realized that even though I haven't seen While You Were Sleeping and Fated to Love You, I've heard both of those songs! I swear Goodbye My Love makes me wanna curl into a ball and cry every time.
I took my time listening to all the others ones you listed as well (thanks for providing links). I realize that K-dramas knows how to make their OSTs unique to the drama. Like Yoo Hwe Seung's and Richard Parkers' OSTs are really fitting to the tone of the drama. I call myself a LJG fan as well even though I haven't really seen a good number of his works. He's the only one where I'd think of when I think of 'best actor.'
Now for Japan, it'll be one of the countries where I probably wouldn't know many songs and singers from. I do know OOR due to my tiny phase with them and have heard of L'Arc en Ciel but I don't watch anime so I wouldn't know any OP or ED songs. I am cw AOT though xD
Nameless generation in GoGo Suid! Woah that was goose bumping song hats off to #ChenXueRan
Right?! Great opening song and really fitting for the drama. I don't think I skipped the intro while I was watching the show, which I always skip intros xD
wish these were on pandora :( I am addicted to these ost and would listen in the car on my way to town if i could
Hmm I don't use Pandora but I do know that Chinese songs are hard to find on Spotify itself. I usually would opt for creating a Youtube playlist when it's not on Spotify
Great article with lots of good OST singers that are also my favorites. Happy to see Guardian being featured here…
I haven't seen Guardian yet but after I created Chen Xueran's list and listened to Guardian's OST, I almost hopped into on a whim. I plan to watch it sometime next year, probably when I finally join one of MDL's watch challenges.

Edit: Just listened to the Crush OST playlist and I have to say my favorite is Suzuku Bridge and Dreams Under The Night Sky
