Just started this, super fun series! However if this was real life I don't think teaching martial arts to someone who smiles like Aoba is a good thing to do...
I really do like the pair of ML's brother and his crush. They should have just rewritten the romance for ML out and kept this secondary romance pair as the "main romance sub-plot". We would have gotten better pacing and better romance at once lol.
Honestly though, I do think overall the show has just been getting better since the rougher start, despite Yang Yan's lack of screen time >:(
My friend’s parents still deny the existence of mental health. She avoided therapy until it got too much and is finally going covertly because that’s just how Asian society is. To anyone who needs to hear this: It’s not in your head, you’re not overreacting. If you need help, please seek it. If anyone judges you for seeking help, they aren’t worth your time.
Why isn't the crown princess our female lead? What is up with most cdramas and their obsession with writing juvenile/immature female leads? Haven't directors realized yet that the shows which do well have female leads who aren't whiny and annoying? I liked the FL actress in New Life Begins, so this is purely just a script/characterization thing.
Granted, we haven't seen much of her yet, and everyone loves a good underdog story. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now but the transformation by the end better be good.
My god is He Jia Hao’s situation bad. He’s suffering from such blatant child abuse it’s hard to watch sometimes.
I am glad that Chinese media is finally addressing mental health to make the issue more mainstream though.
Edit: I’m further into episode 6 and my goodness are they addressing some heavy topics on the mental health side of things. Actually acknowledging self-harm is so rare.

Hopefully we get a season 3 though, or else they just pulled a Hollywood by ending us on a cliffhanger without plans to actually... end the narrative.

Hope my recs were what you expected though 😅
none of the Toku actors are safe, even veterans it seems.
But seriously though, I loved Ok Taec Yeon in Blind. Can’t wait for this.

I adore every single one of them. Praying their bonds remain by the end of the series, but something tells me to prepare for heartbreak.
