I’m pretty surprised with the comments. I’m actually enjoying this drama. Ep 6 was a good cliffhanger.

While I still enjoy this drama, I feel that it has so much missed potential of stories and character-exploring…
I whole heartedly agree! What I feel has been lacking since the time travel are the meaningful connections the ML has with his mother and mentor. Like we spend most of the episodes on the love battle and honestly it turns me off.

The irony is that his best project was The K2.After that, it went all downhill for him, and this time he's back…
I never watched K2 but I always thought of him a decent actor. Its all about preference. I thought he did a good job in Empress Ki and The Sound of Magic. He's played interesting roles, but he does well in action/noir. I personally think his work in The Worst of Evil is his best project to date.

I'm trying REALLY hard to avoid spoilers but I just want to know if, after seeing the ending, WITH NO SPOILERS…
100%. A must see!

This drama was amazing! At the end, if you think about it, both JK and JM were betrayed. The ending is pretty somber but it is a realistic ending that I could live with. I really do feel that Jungmo lost a part of himself while undercover and he created an unspoken brotherly bond with Ki chul. This is what I loved most about the ending of the drama. Even if Jungmo was deceiving Ki Chul and had his own resentment towards him, he still had respect for Ki Chul and chose to let him get away. It's like he felt guilty about the whole sting operation. The same for Haeryun. He was using her to not only help move along the investigation but he also seemed to have subtle conflicting feelings for her. ugh, I need a higher ranking than 10.

Title My Dearest Part 2 Spoiler
So yeah, the scene of them meeting when JAng Hyun paid to "spend the night with her" and her being exhausted,…
I think Officer Gu has love for her but it's not true love. He cared for her when she was trying to get back on her feet and he cherished her to a certain extent. However, he was insecure because of that one runaway case of the FL. Of course, when you suspect your spouse is cheating on you, you are not going to go back to feeling on top of the moon once the issue has been solved. He probably had doubts, which relates a lot to his reaction when
he found out she was missing again.

He's thinking, "She's left me again for this guy" and does not reason with logic (ignores listening to her family and friends) because he doesn't trust her. He only knows what he's endured and that's a very human thing. To me it felt that he had a glimmer of hope of wanting to trust her and be a loving husband and believes that it is not true and goes out to find her. But from the rumors saying the FL will be dirtied by the barbarians, it was another stream of gossip to feed on his insecurity.

I think Offer Gu loves Gil Chae, but he's been hurt by her. It is naturally easier for him to give up on her than it would be for the ML who literally embedded his heart and trust in Gil Chae.

Is it just me or does it feel like Joon Mo has become way too accustomed to the gang lifestyle? After the scene in episode 8 with the brawl of the gangs, he's not even consulting with the ones who put him in there. It really feels like Joon Mo has lost himself.

I love how every episode feels like a movie! Good acting, good story line, good suspense, and the main actors are both just smoking hot!

In the Red Sleeve FL never said to him that she loves him..she always asked for freedom. Meanwhile in this story…
I don't think I've said she didn't have growth at all. She had tremendous growth. She's having a difficult time being honest with her feelings about the ML. That's just my bone to pick for her character.

can you explain by “the main FL here who just doesn’t get it?” i enjoyed watching both the red sleeve &…
I understand that her family is a priority here, and she wants trust but what I dislike about the FL is that for the majority of the 10 episodes she could not be honest with her own feelings. This is why I said she doesn't know herself.

To me, they are both playing a game. But it's not like he did not make a consistent effort to let her know that if she wanted him to stay then he would. Just as she would not give up her life to be with the person she cares about, he did not as well.

"She specifically said she wasn’t going to change and what she needs is someone who can accept her for who she is."

This is true. But I really feel the ML has already accepted her for her. The FL now just needs to accept him.

"It seems you dislike her not for lack of confidence but for not doing what you wanted her to do."

What logic is this?

1. It's just a drama The writers can go in any direction they feel.

2. My opinion doesn't have to be your opinion. That's ok and I respect your opinion.

3. I just feel there could be much more to the FL character. The writers have thrown almost every drama in the book to not allow our leads to have their happy endings even when we get those small glances of hope. It's frustrating. (I also did not know they were extending this out until October.) I think the FL is courageous, caring, and very strong but she does not understand her feelings and she's pushed herself to be unhappy. The ML is convicted in his feelings for the FL and he does unpredictable things because of it. To ask the woman that he loves to leave everything behind is of the ML's own selfishness. I just personally feel the FL fails to understand that she's in love. She pretty much gave the ML every excuse in the book as to why she could not be with him. She experiences losing him, and she feels a strong urge to wish she had been kind and more loving to him by having him stay with her. But pride got in her way again and left. Even when the ML comes back and the truth comes out, she doesn't want her life compromised and admits she doesn't love him. It's just the worst case of push-and-pull.

FL character differences is all. I heard the people who did this drama were the same people who also did the red sleeve so I was taken back with how far back the development of of the FL character went no where. But of course those are two very different dramas.

I'm a sucker for saeguks and this was no exception. I did not want to drop the drama because I had faith in it and its writers from when the storyline went into the war time plot and of course the acting is great. (Took me back a bit to Queen Seon Deok.)

"can you explain by “the main FL here who just doesn’t get it?”"

Well for starters, it is very interesting that the ML pointed out her true feelings for Name Yeon Ju not being legitimate based on her own pride as a desired woman and I think he's right. The main female lead is arrogant and naïve in her ways when it comes to wearing her pride and it has always literally gotten her nowhere. She desires the husband in her dreams but does value or hold on to the sacrifices the ML has made to move mountains for her. The ML's shows his vulnerability and has been mostly honest with her but she continues to make excuses as to why she can not be with him. Even when she believed that the ML died, she said and did things that confirmed her true feelings for him but she denied herself after promising another man marriage while not having true feelings for him. She went through hell and back and for a moment it seemed that she had the guts to actually stand tall and confident in her feelings. But once again, she allowed the wind of her own pride get in the way. I don't think a woman alive today could turn away after going through so much. If anything she's learned is that it's important to hold on to those you cherish and she continuously plays the fiddle.

I loved how she overcomes her hurdles and at one point it seemed she was on the path of holding on and savoring her time with the ML, but she still doesn't understand who she is fully as a woman. And I hate that for her.

I'm sorry you guys but the push-and-pull storyline wastes time. There is a reason I really adored the red sleeve and how the writers made the female lead confident about who she is and her feelings vs the main FL here who just doesn't get it. And what makes it worse, the female lead in this story went through some tough trials. You would think these difficult circumstances would cause her to wise up and mature but no. I love the cinematography, I love the ML and his affirmations on his feelings but I fear 10 episodes have lead us to nowehere.

The whole last episode is all about karma. The post time skip scenes are ambiguous open hints at the ending, but…
I feel this take is true to the open ending of this series.
