I rarely enjoy Ren Jia Lun's dramas, as his acting always bores me. Even for this one, I only managed to watch 10 episodes.

I didn’t like the novel version of Fan Xian. It was difficult to read the novel because the characters were so unlikable, especially Fan Xian. To me, he was just another typical main character of Chinese novels, as I have read so many of them. I like the drama version of Fan Xian.

Fan Xian is revealed to be a prince in the 1st season, so it can't be considered a spoiler anymore.
