Season 3 wouldn't be a tangent arc since they revealed the joker card. It is safe to say they will stray away…
If they use the sequel, it would be more apt for a movie rather than s3. Also, they would have just stuck to the manga and brought the joker out at the end rather than just the card as a foreshadowing of what's to come in s3.
I'm wondering about the citizens in borderland. The citizens provided the royal face card games, right? So it…
You are right. The only way people can enter the borderlands is on the verge of death. To explain the borderlands, we would have to dive into Greek mythology. In ancient Greece and Rome, the dead were cremated/buried with coins on their eyes and mouth. The coins were the fee for Charon, the ferryman, to ferry the souls across the river Styx. Those who did not pay the fee or did not undergo funeral rites were made to wander the shores of the Styx for a hundred years before being granted to cross over. Here, the borderlands are the shores of the river Styx, the participants - the ones wandering the shore and the joker - Charon. If they die in the borderlands, they also perish in the real world. It is safe to assume that the previous citizens have all died in the real world since they beat the game and chose to stay behind, thereby relinquishing their chance of returning to the physical world. These citizens help the joker run these games |In the manga, the joker appears after Arisu beats the Queen of hearts. He's a mysterious entity shrouded in darkness. After their brief conversation, Arisu learns that the joker is the intermediator between life and death. This is further supported by a depiction of a ferryman ferrying souls across the Sanzu river, which is similar to what the Styx represents.
If you look at it like that, then yes! In the manga, Chishiya says he has half a day left after being shot. So…
But Arisu wasn't weak-minded. Initially, yes; however, he strived and beat the games with the rest. Even after being repeatedly pushed to the point of no hope, he overcame them again and again with the help of others and reached the last game. A weak-minded person would in no way get to the end. He has pulled out some ballsy stuff throughout s1 and s2, which would require being at least above average, humbly speaking. Mira was a master manipulator, and she knew where to poke and prod at the weak points of the participant, be it Arisu or anyone else. Here, she lulls them into a false sense of security by letting two rounds pass and then invites them to have tea with her. This was when she bore her fangs and bit into Arisu's psyche, injecting her venom with her sweet words. She even guessed what many viewers also contemplated about the borderlands, such as it being a VR game. She did this a couple of times and had Arisu questioning his sanity when he was in the doctor's office with her ( Stutter Island, anyone?). Being in an unknown land, playing life and death games, losing his best friends in front of his eyes, knowing he caused the death of others, having his friends on the verge of death, and being physically beaten all lead him to be mentally and physically exhausted. It is then so much easier to make someone lose control of themselves. How often have we not reacted and burst out at people when we were going through something, even though the person did not cause it? Realistically speaking, we are all humans and have many flaws. The author used this fact well to portray it in the last game. The games were much more challenging in comparison too. They would have lost the first if not for Tatta's sacrifice, the king of diamonds game was a calculated gamble, and the queen of spades had a more significant advantage- being physically adept and chasing the participants first. However, these are my two cents; if you feel the same way, I respect that.

Well, in the manga, everyone lives but is not shot. So they kept that part, albeit how illogical it might seem. The last game has rightfully captured the queen of hearts game. I'm not sure what you found dumb in the last game.
I think there will be a season three because there is another manga called Alice In Borderland Retry and before…
Season 3 wouldn't be a tangent arc since they revealed the joker card. It is safe to say they will stray away from the manga from this point on. There were rumours that Netflix was already working on s3 months before s2's release date. Either way, we'll have to wait for an official announcement.
the borderland is a border between life and death. if they die in the borderland, they die in real life (like…
Ann just passed out. Not necessarily dead. In the manga, Chishya says he has at most half a day after being shot. Also, it can take quite some time to die from blood loss.
For me its very disappointing ending. So all the mains some how have unlimited amount of blood and it was all…
If you look at it like that, then yes! In the manga, Chishiya says he has half a day left after being shot. So along the same lines, all those who got shot weren't killed instantly. Dying from blood loss would take quite some time. Ann just passed out from all the blood loss, so she was technically still alive.
I rest my case with his comment since all your arguments are based on dramas Traditionally and culturally speaking, I would keep the narrative as close to what the author intended rather than skewing it. Also, the Japanese culture never had Grim reapers, to begin with; if anything, it's a western influence. Also, as seen by a comment above, people view a ferryman and grim reapers as separate entities. You are right. They both guide souls, but it would be bland to go through life if differences weren't enjoyed. If so, what people refer to as angels and demons would be the same since they both are allowed to interact with the living through visions and words. However, it's your prerogative to believe anything that suits you, and I only commented to keep the narrative as close to the author's as possible.
The ferryman is called Charon in greek mythology. The grim reapers portrayed in dramas need not be completely accurate. Even in the Goblin, the Grim reaper appears before they die to signify their time is up and guide them after they die. No such grim reaper appears before the participants; as stated in my previous comment, they are all dead. Since this is the Japanese culture, the Sanzu river is the equivalent of the Styx. The borderlands are, therefore, the shore of the Sanzu river, and the participants(before and present) are those who failed to pay the ferryman his fee. Also, in the manga, after the brief conversation between the joker and Arisu, there is a depiction of a ferryman ferrying the souls across the Sanzu river. So, all in all, the joker being a ferryman is more likely.
That is not exactly true. Although there are depictions of all three being similar, they are all fundamentally different, with grim reapers and death being more identical than the ferryman. Grim Reapers and death approach the victims to harvest their souls before their time is up. Not after. As seen in the drama, all of them were already dead, and their hearts stopped for a whole minute, as seen with Arisu, Ann and Aguni. The ferryman guides the soul across the river Styx/ Sanzu after they die and the funeral rites are completed. In ancient Greece and Rome, the dead had coins on their eyes or mouth meant as a fee to the ferryman for the journey across the river Styx. However, the dead who could not pay the fee and those who had received no funeral rites had to wander the shores of the river(borderlands) for 100 years before being allowed to cross over. In the drama, the participants play games instead to survive the borderlands and maybe have a chance of returning to the physical world.
