You are right, the strongest character that introduces violent, paranoic obsession and brutal tortures, is chief Chen Mo Qun and that's why we blame the Secret Service and the state for all crimes.

Where is propaganda? - look at this: in drama communism is pretend to be inspired by democratic ideas, it's a philosophy for all good people: students who love their country, working people and even capitalist businessmen, but in fact, it's a mask to just show communism as a cool message. If FL believes that communism is a democratic idea and justice in the world - she is only naive (so far). And unfortunately, the actress does not bring any deep in her character.
Excellent spy story, great visuals, music and scenography. Shanghai in the '30s is really well done. There is a great battle between characters in the drama: chef of agents and the leader of communists - strong acting skills from both of them. And in the middle Zhu Yi Long is stuck. But I don't like the female lead, she is just a stupid communist. It's full of action, guns, spies lies and moral dilemmas. It's really nice to watch, although there is one problem: gross Chinese communistic propaganda.
huft, I prefer early writers. I don't know why writers now make stories that make me upset.
Previous episodes were written and directed just perfectly and Lee Je Hoon's acting was superb because the script was so good. The last episodes - well, full of action and less deep and nuanced.
It's cute, funny with youth crush problems, friendship and love and with a bit of hacking. The film is really easy to watch since it's light and sweet. I expected something else because of misleading trailer but I'm nicely surprised.
The plot is simple and superficial, I think it's not much for playing for main leads in this scenario. So acting is average. My biggest problem is a false conflict between leads and between deities, unconvincing and pretended. There is no drama in this drama so everything is a little boring. Will we see a good and touching story in the next episodes? I don't think so.
Little boring. Emotions seem not so real, not so engaging. I don't see the reason for a fight between leads and between deities as well. Conflict in the drama I think is superficial.
I was waiting for such a beautiful drama for years. It's just like meeting old friends when you can cry and laugh at the same time. The touching relationship between boy and grandpa is extremely well portraited. Although we know they have a hard life and tough moments - we can experience a touching and warm story and take some of that good with us.
I'm getting ready to watch it this weekend. I'll let you know. Sorry I tried to watch it and the subs were so…
Indeed, subs are not good, for example they confused noona with hyoung, but dialogues are simple and it's easy to understand. The film is outstanding, very artistic.
Is this good ? I am currently watching other 2-3 dramas. I am planning to watch this one. How is it ??
It's difficult but at the same time, it's a great and perfect show. Watching it you have to wait to find the answers to questions about a murder case, history of people involved, psychological determinations. The directing, acting, execution - are beyond any random Korean drama. It's a big screen film level production. And especially I love pathos in instrumental music.
