Haha, this is a pretty nice year-end medley of actors, as everyone from the dramas of recent years is here. You can have fun watching the love story of the characters, but you can also look for clues to what drama this is a theme and character from. It was fun!
It's well written drama with a slow pace so we could watch the transformation of the prince during the story. Big problems of the kingdom are more important than personal issues, including love and romance. Heroes fight for justice and country. It's a classic historical drama and that's why everybody is a bit unnatural and has a sublime and noble style of expression. I like it very much. The young cast did a great job too.
Cute! It's a very nice version of gender-bender theme. The character of the female lead is well written and Lee Soo Min plays it perfectly with her low voice.
I thought there was some sloppiness in the plot-line that was not made clear. Also, things revealed themselves…
First the film slowly builds characters of son and mother, we start to feel sympathy for them, we start knowing them better, and then: ' things revealed themselves in the last third of the film' - because we have to question everything we have known earlier. And next scenes bring the question, what the mother will do. The whole plot takes us to the last scene. The story is perfectly composed.
It's a great detective drama with an excellent cast. Good thriller must scare you, draw you into the plot and make you cry. And that's the show. I love all the cast, especially the prosecutor played by Kwon Soo Hyun. I enjoyed the acting of Go Ah Sung who appears in television series not very often. For sure it's the best crime drama this year.
Leads talk to each other like two robots. She has the same "expression" all the time and he has the same "expression" all the time on his face. It seemed almost impossible, but there is no chemistry between them.
It's a great pleasure to watch this drama, especially the process of drawing when artists explain the visual language of Asian art. I even prefer less demons and supernatural characters and more paintings... Leads did a good job too. There is no exaggeration in their acting and their relationship is warm and sweet.
There is nothing to watch except the star Hwang Jung Min and his smile:) Simple, short and bland story, naive directing, raw cruelty and western aesthetics. No drama but the only struggling all the time. There is no similarity to other films of Hwang Jung Min.
The drama becomes more and more beautiful if it is possible after 10 episodes. I wonder what the ending will be, will all of the protagonists receive hope and warmth in their hearts or only some of them? Or maybe there is no hope and no future in their lives? There is no classic black-and-white split here. Good people are sometimes bad and bad people are sometimes good because everything is grey. But at the same time, intense emotions, love and longing are comforting and it's a unique pleasure to watch this melancholic world.
Definitely this drama is not for everyone. If you are looking for classic tropes, clear plot, expressive and strong…
My ahjussi and Secret Love Affair have a clear plot and a good pace, we were involved in protagonist's stories but here we have to guess many things, the relationships between characters are enigmatic and complex. Maybe the main theme of this drama is that: is happiness possible in human life? Does life have any meaning?
God, that first episode was soooo sloooow. Does the pace pick up later? If the second episode is like this, I…
Definitely this drama is not for everyone. If you are looking for classic tropes, clear plot, expressive and strong heroes - it's not here. The boundaries between reality and fiction have been broken and you wonder if it's still a drama or a documentary. But if you are looking for something with great artistic quality - this is it.
The most significant idea is the director's decision of a natural way of filming. We have no impression that this is fictional or unreal but every character is so natural that we think we already know them very well. And of course outstanding acting. My favourite actress became Park Ji Young - bad writer - she really can act and she is a star. I can't define why I love this drama so much: the action is slow, dialogues are simple, emotions are hidden deep. Beautiful drama.
