I watched the first season the year i graduated from middle school. I'm about to graduate from high school in 2 months... where is the second season???

I'm so confused rn, is it set in 2005 or was that just an error with my subtitle? Because there is no way all these advanced smartphones and instagram existed back then.

I'm pretty sure China has some laws about that, so we definitely won't be seeing any kiss scenes. But it's still kind of weird considering that she's a minor. It feels even weirder for me because she's the same age as me (I'm older by 3 months)

I feel like everyone has different opinions on this, but do I need to watch Princess Agents before starting this?

(I'm generally pretty quick at catching onto things as I'm watching a drama, so unless I absolutely need to watch the prequel to understand the events in this drama, I don't want to spend my time watching the prequel)

Yes I love how Changyu stayed so true to herself through out the entire drama. Because we've seen how some FL's just turn into damsels in distress once they find a man and I've always hated that.

Another one of my favourites is when the the FL and ML fight right before he decided to leave Lin'an. He collapses in the snow and you can see the stark contrast between the warm and the cold.

Half the shot is covered in the warm light, yet the ML lies in the only part where the light doesn't fall which perfectly fit with the situation. It was just such a well thought way to visually highlight the emotions of that scene.

And the part where we finally see the ML enter the capital as the Marquis of Wu'an felt so grand and unreal. It was like I got transported into a different place for a split moment.

And I think it's impossible to not mention the scene from the 1st episode where the FL hides the ML in the pig shed to protect him. The use of natural lighting in that scene was absolutely gorgeous.

Yes, there are so many wonderfully shot scenes throughout the drama. There's only so much I can mention in a review without spoiling the drama but thank you for pointing them out! ❤️

Kinda glad that I pushed through the 1st episode despite not finding it that interesting, because I'm a lot more invested in the plot now.

I've seen about half of the 1st episode, but it still hasn't stuck to me yet. Should I still push through and give it a chance?

i mean most websites are pretty quick at updating the express episodes, so if your fine with that you can totally watch them on there. just wait a little while because it does take them some time to put them up.

btw i'm a highschooler too :)

your unfortunately just going to have to wait and follow the official airing schedule if you want accurate subtitles.

however the express episodes should be releasing tomorrow, so you should be able to watch the rest of the episodes with proper subtitles sometime tomorrow.

Does anyone know how old Yan Zheng is? We get to know that Changyu is 18, but what about him?

I actually don't remember because they only ever mentioned it once, but I'm like 80% sure it was due to another reason. Fang Muyang does always say that he wasn't great at school, so that could have been a reason he was held back a year.

Isn't the ML one year older? I'm pretty sure they mentioned that he was redoing a year or smth in school and that's why he was in the same class as the FL

yeah ig it is, but at the same time I can also understand why she thought it was necessary. And it's not like she's completely forgotten about them and cut them off. She clearly feels some guilt inside of her as well.

It's shown pretty early on it the show. She did it because she didn't want the connection with her parents to 'jeopardize' her career.

Wait I'm kind of confused, does it have 29 episodes or 27?
