Zhang Hai jouney is truly unique. a lot of male centric drama start the story as capable, smartest in the room, coolest strategist man, ex : ling bu yi (LLTG), mei changsu (NIF), feng lan xi (WRTW), etc.

Zhang hai is not, audience grow tgt w him in this journey. Why after 10years of training we couldnt see “perfect Zhang Hai” yet?

ZH grew up 10 years in secluded mountain, only interact w the very best quality of human being😆, beloved cutie Shifu, wise Shifu, no senior bullies, he basically live in this perfect lil bubble life protected by shifu. His reality grasp of diff type of bad people is stuck at 10 years old boy version. If he can just kill Marquis w kitchen knife as adult, just simply trained as assasin. But Marquis is not kinda guy, ZH need a lot of political tactic, manipulate ppl to kill Marquis.

So to learn this kinda of stuff, u cant just horn it in peaceful monk life situation w/o any grasp of capital dirty ppl. No matter how many tricks, books, knowledge his shifu teach him over 10 years, even 100 years, it never guarantee he can perfect it. Because this kinda stuff is “APPLIED”, is an ACT, not learn by books & sit in class room.
