At one point I thought did Zhai Xing allow herself to be tortured over and over because she blamed herself for "his death" when he fell off the cliff? With years of guilt, did it just consume her so that she just took all the abuse as karma or something that she owes him?

But yeah this drama definitely makes it ok to treat women like shit because at the end of the day they're just weak and will love you anyway. Then give men the pass because it's "tough love" or they're "hot".

I'm curious, what soundtrack annoyed you? For me, the rap was out of place in a historical setting.

Lol, did I write this?! It's exactly what I went through, I watch cdramas to destress not add on to it. This series definitely added on to it! My ocd did the same thing, despite all the aggravation, I just wanted to see it through and get it over with.

I really can't say because it depends on your personality. For me, Lord Bo was a pos virtually from beginning to end. So in that regards, to save myself from grief I should've just stuck to Ji Chong scenes. Some however, say he redeemed himself and was able to enjoy the fact that it's a bittersweet love story.

Whatever you choose, let me know. I'm really curious of what your take ended up being =)

Yaasss, welcome to the club! I struggled to the very end just hoping the tables would turn and also because I invested so much already. But for me, it was just a waste of time. If I could go back, I would've just watched scenes with Ji Chong and peace tf out. You might feel different towards the end but I sure didn't...

I finally just finished the series because I was struggling to get through it and yeah it's very fitting for 2020, the year of a hot mess. If it wasn't for discovering Xiao Zhan and the song , Stone, this was probably one of the worst cdramas on my watchlist.

Same. I kept pushing through because I made the mistake of spoiling myself with a scene with Xiao Zhan that took place all the way in ep 35! The struggle was real.

No, thank you! Contrived is a good way to put it, for me though I felt like his expressions where either exaggerated or just not fitting for that time period. The way he distorts his face sometimes, like it's not a comedy bruh.

Yes, the size difference alone between Ji Chong and Bao Na is very odd. Like a grown up and a child. I feel like despite him deserving way better than Zhai Xing, I think him changing for her shows growth and it definitely made his relationship with his father better. If roaming the world without responsibility is his calling, that's fine but I'm not adverse to some structure or change to better yourself.

Sorry, I was only going to rate the series. I have yet to feel passionate enough to write a review and if I were, it'd be a positive one so I sure as hell wouldn't waste it on this series lol (considering how much I loathed it) Plus, you've already said pretty much everything I would, just more forgiving =)
