The thing with Yingxin is, she isn't as loyal to TTJ's mother as Lan'an was, which is probably why she was able to betray him easily, especially when Lan'an didn't return as fast as she should have.
What could have happened if Yingxin and Lan'an switched places - Yingxin leaving to get help from Yiyue tribe, and Lan'an staying to take care of TTJ? hmmm

Really, in happier times, and in another life, most likely.... TTJ would have been the wisest, most handsome, and most beloved Jing emperor in its history.

Aside from his plot to entangle himself with OG YXW, he also kinda manipulated the Sheng King not to behead him, and he's sly enough to maneuver around that slimy courtier

For someone who says that he doesn't feel anything, TTJ sure does feel a lot:
- injustice for Yingxin
- fondness for Xiao Lin (as the only one who had been true to him)
- disgust for that slimy courtier
- anger for Ye Zeyu for slitting his coat (he was about to throw down hands if YXW had not intervened)

But really, during these dialogues about TTJ's pitiful life, we could really see the makings of DG1.0. ("No one will ever like me, and I don't need to be liked." echoes "I'm far lesser than animals, because I don't feel anything"---paraphrased from ep.1). So it was really fortunate that in this timeline, LSS saved TTJ from becoming DG1.0.
