Welcome welcome Moonies to our 2ND ANNIVERSARY REWATCH!! Can't believe it's been 2 years already since we first watched this masterpiece...
This is your cue to drop your thoughts about Episode 1 and what makes it totally awesome among all first episodes in the history of dramaland😍Happy watching!
HAHAHAHA MICHA!!! The second sentence.... I can't believe we rubbed off on you with the innuendos🤣But yes,…
ZZMM is a handful tho😅 but it's a nice name🥰 I keep rewatching bits of Blossom every now and then😅 I couldn't believe I didn't take note of Li Yunrui when I watched The Last Immortal, but then again he didn't have the grey, tousled hairdo then😆 Meng Ziyi has wonderful round eyes... I could drown in them😆
Just finished Divine Tree! How to have a love like RanShui? 😍 These two are amazing at having each other's…
HAHAHAHA MICHA!!! The second sentence.... I can't believe we rubbed off on you with the innuendos🤣 But yes, LOTDT is a win if only for that 40th episode😍 RanShui is goals, second to MoZhao(?)😅 of Blossom for me😁 I love the switching from master to disciple between them😆 MRW and SY were ff'able, I stopped caring about their motivations when it was purely about greed. WJ was a surprise at the end😆 I thought he would simply be a cartoonish villain, but he turned surprisingly adorkable, true. Yeah, agree with your rating😄
How was the overall storyline? I'm thinking of watching LOTDT after finishing Dafeng.
Ngl, I was going to drop LOTDT in the early eps coz I wasn't feeling XRR's carelessness and immaturity then.... thankfully there was that flashback when she became MQG, who was quite interesting at that point. Then that atrocious beard of SYS came up, and the Drop button was again almost triggered (WHAT IN H---was that?!?!) 🤣 and, tbh, I felt there should be something more with SYS's background than simply being his father's pawn and his mother's collateral (I understood everything later) but when the real story of why MQG "attacked" him and the heavenly sects happened, DW made me throw the Drop button away by acting SYS's anguish and regrets brilliantly. I ff'd some scenes, sure, but not the ones with DW and eventually Julia, but especially DW🤣, in it. As I said, I LOVED his petty era😆
Enough appreciation post?🤣 but really well deserved.👏👏👏Beauty?✅️ Talent?✅️ Deng Wei is someone to look forward to. I'm really glad I got to see him first in TTEOTM tho, because his potential was there (tho I understand Miss the Dragon was his first drama?)
Teacher, teacher.., wat are the kids performing? Xianxia Weiwei meow meow dance or Xixi’s singsongs or Latin…
hahaha BTS Jongkook's "Dreamers" in medley with YMCA(😆So 90's😆), intro to Pussycat Doll's Buttons, and some of our indigenous dances in our province😄 weird, but yeah🤣 we're trying to blend modern with traditional😄
So I'm gonna chatter for a while here coz this is kinda the only time I could before the week starts again (actually will be dashing off later coz we have a school performance to supervise --yes, even on a Sunday😅 anyway the kids have a short break while the sports competitions are going on😅)
I'm still not too sure cdramas are going to pull off the lessened episodes deal especially for xianxias... the charm of cdramas for me is their world-building, which doesn't only happen in one episode, but throughout. I enjoy the world the dramas revolve in as much as I do its main storyline. Cdramas are so much more than their plotline, and I feel that part of the less episode deal was a pressure to match kdramas in global popularity, aside from keeping greed in check. Cdramas really aren't built for those with short patience, and nowadays people really aren't patient enough (or is it the world not allowing us to?🤔) to sit through a lengthy drama, even as shortened as 30 something.
I had been intimidated by cdramas before, precisely because of the episode number, but only now do I appreciate why they had to be that way.

**PS. 😅 So I was thinking about what I said about DW getting better...? I wanna edit/add more to that as "He was given more to play with in his character as Su Yishui and he played excellently" SYS is a rainbow (? I can't find words to describe him😅 he's not profound, coz he's not that wise or deep) character for me, and DW played him really interestingly.
**this is such a Deng Wei appreciation post🤣🤣🤣🤣 apologies if I'm overdoing it🤣

Hmmm... for me it was pretty ok, it had the usual tropes of master sacrifices for disciple, disciple pays her back, there's a love square with obsessive 2ML and 2FL, immorons are there (but they get better later😅) someone forgets someone, and the heroes save the world.🤣 (wait, did u ask for a summary? I overdid it🤣) While the first eps were pretty good enough to hold my interest, it was only in the late 20s that the story started getting interesting for me. It isn't as impactful as TBL or MM, but the ending is the best.😆😍
.....but you know very well I was there for Deng Wei🤣 He's gotten better since TTEOTM (sorry, haven't really gotten around watching LYF so I can't tell how he had been) but he's absolutely dashing to watch as well😅 He did give off TTJ vibes, and what CJM would have gone through if the immortal arc wasn't rushed😟 his character there was a seesaw between good and bad, and he played both convincingly well. I absolutely loved his petty era😆He isn't as nuanced as Xixi was in playing TTJ/MY/CJM, but he did good in differentiating Su Yishui's different mindsets.
......and that's the end of my TED talk.😅🤣 I've said too much, haven't I?😆😅 Did I even answer your question?🤣
