Personally, those episodes are very important to the buildup of the story and to get to know each of the characters. While they are on the journey to An, the ML and FL have been teaching and guiding the princess on what she should do once they arrive, as she's too naive about the outside world. Otherwise, she's already dead by now (I have a feeling she's gonna have a big character development later on). It's also a very vital development for both the ML and FL's relationship.
