Episode 10 is SO GOOD! Just proves again that the JiAh-InBum exorcism pairing is THE match made in heaven. And…
My fav parts of Episode 10: 1. JiAh and InBum working together on an impromptu exorcism with just a glance and a nod to each other 2. InBum's internal fight with the ghost possessing him to protect JiAh from himself! The only other person we've seen who could do this was JiAh's mum. He really is a special psychic. 3. InBum selecting 'couple' outfits' for his 'date' with JiAh, I love how they gave us that moment of humor before completely switching to somber mood when JiAh told him about his uncle. This show does that so well. 4. InBum telling JiAh, in all seriousness, that he wants to hold her hand anyway even if it is not warming her up in the freezer. I might have squealed.
I hate to say this, but at this point, I am willing to sacrifice my need for an outright romance between our leads if it means that they can keep working together (that darn chastity clause). They work so well together and support and understand each other in ways no one else can. Arghh... my conflicted shipping heart!
Episode 10 is SO GOOD! Just proves again that the JiAh-InBum exorcism pairing is THE match made in heaven. And they know it too. So much FUN jam-packed into this episode, we have a criminal chase, exorcism, scams, InBum strutting his stuff, so MANY meaningful looks between our leads, more hand-holding and THAT FINAL SCENE! How am I gonna survive another week of waiting?!!
Aren't we glad JiAh and InBum had their fall out for that exorcism? That scene would look quite different if it had been InBum up on stage with that dress. ^^
My heart completely broke for the ghost in Ep 9. She stepped in to help a fellow single girl and lost her life for it. That last look she gave the girl before the elevator closed was so heart-wrenching, kudos to the actress for nailing it. My blood absolutely boiled when the murderer walked out of the police station freely.
Am so happy they did not drag out the fall out between InBum and JiAh. While InBum stepped up and apologized to JiAh for involving his mother and deceiving her, I do hope JiAh will apologize to him for her harsh words too at some point. That last scene where JiAh figuratively and literally swept InBum off his feet was so gracefully executed, like a waltz with our FL taking the lead (as usual).
I thought it was implied that Ms Joo had an illegal abortion when young and that's why they say she killed her…
Maybe she had twin babies. An abortion makes sense to me because she was only a high school student, the cop sounded more concerned (he said "You should have asked for help") rather than damning, and that would explain why she has a clean record since it's not technically a crime. Then of course, I could be totally wrong since this show is good with its slow reveals.
Am gonna pretend the last scene did not happen so I can dwell on my fav swoon-worthy JiAh-InBum moments from Ep 8 (I’m reaching a bit because show is only feeding us CRUMBS so far): 1. Our first proper (non-food related) smile on JiAh’s face when InBum told her she’s a character not likely to be forgotten 2. How they continued to hold hands when they were found by the guard in the playground and she did not fling his hand off after! Progress! 3. ImBum teasing JiAh by calling her cute in her oversized puffer 4. Chicken date (even if it’s a PPL) and cherry blossom walk after (so pretty!) where JiAh tells him he’s a good person (and he looked like he was about to cry) 5. ImBum telling JiAh he had queued up to buy macaroons because he THOUGHT of her (isn’t that practically a love confession already?)
SYHH keeps getting better! We got our moments between the leads (they only have to look at each other and I swoon), another touching ghost story, and that ending! Great acting from the three of them (JNR, JYH and KMG). It was painful but I’m glad that cat is out of the bag... now time to make up and solve the mystery TOGETHER!
I believe I MUST gush over In Beom and Ji-Ah here. When they both had drinks together, In Beom was definitely…
I'm right here gushing with you! I love that little smirk JiAh gave InBum after throwing salt at him and explaining how those born with psychic abilities lose them after dating girls... was that a victorious smirk? And then he chases her down to the car, all indignant at her insinuations, yet still closing the door for her. He's definitely putty in her hands now. Why are they so CUTE?!!
Ep 7 made me cry. Such a moving episode, all the actors (incl. the guest actors) did a great job as always. I missed Ji Cheol in this episode though, he always brings a smile to my face with his expressions. I know I should prepare myself in case the show doesn't give JiAh and InBum a fulfilled romance (the lyrics of the two latest OSTs are so sad, and we have InBum's chastity clause to contend with!), but I can't help grinning whenever these two are on screen together.
Love the chemistry between the leads too. I really like the writing in this, how our leads are developing a genuine friendship based on mutual respect and understanding of each other - I can't imagine how lonely and depressed JiAh must have felt bearing the burden of those spirits the last 10 years alone. Having InBum to share the burden, to help her find hope in humankind again... even if the show doesn't give them a romance, at least they have each other for support. Though I do hope they get a romance, they are SO CUTE together and their "hand-warming" scenes are already making me squeal!
Not what you were probably aiming at but I think the character has sth sophisticated about her? The elegance,…
Yes, I really like her character so far so am hoping she’s hiding info to ‘protect’ JiAh. JiAh already has so little faith in the human race, a betrayal from her would be a huge blow.
I love how they reversed the damsel in distress trope by making Hong Ji Ah the one who comes to Oh In Beom's rescue.
It’s especially funny given IRL Yong Hwa was a commando in the military, was trained to kill with his bare hands and spent months in the DMZ. Talk about a real role reversal compared to InBum. At least in Ep 6 we got to see him in action a bit.
6 episodes in and the drama still manages to retain its sense of FUN while furthering the plot and giving our leads character growth. I love all of Ji-Ah and In-Bum's interactions, they complement each other so well and push each other to be better versions of themselves. And who knew hand-warming (not even of the romantic kind) could be so giddy-inducing!
The situation was so menacing, but as soon as he woke up, our ML was more concerned about water ruining his new expensive suit! This show cracks me up!
yeah they have a different case every week, they usually wrap one up and introduce the next near the end. There's…
Agree with @Dani . Even though each ghost's story is different, they all contribute to the over-aching plot/mystery be it by triggering memories, character development, revealing pieces of the puzzle etc. I'm really impressed by the writing and directing, how they've weaved all the stories into a single, engaging storyline with a perfect mix of horror, comedy and heart. So much fun plus Jang Nara is a QUEEN here.
Just watched Ep 5, so much cuteness from In Bum and we get to see how big Ji Ah's heart actually is beneath all that ice. The last 3 minutes of the show was so intense though! The preview for Ep 6 is killing me, possessed In Bum is scary and it looks like more secrets are being revealed! Who is our conman/softie/virgin In Bum really, why is he so special and what other dark history does he have? Can't wait!
Well written, well directed and well acted. Everything is on point so far, even the OST! The story unfolds in a natural way, the dialogue is witty, the characters are complex enough and the spread of horror, humor and heart is just nice. And I am already feeling the chemistry between the leads (and supporting cast too)! Can't wait for new episodes!
