Why does he put so much gap between his work? 2 years, then 3 years, then 2 years?
He did his military service in 2018 and 2019, and has also completed shooting another drama that has not aired yet. Also, his main job is as a musician and he's been busy writing music for his own solo, his band CNBLUE, and a new band he produced, as well as touring - he has a concert almost every weekend. I miss him as an actor too, but understand he's busy! He just completed shooting a new movie that will be out in 2025 though, and hopefully we'll get news on when It's You, Out of the Blue will air.
I'm more interested with the zombie hunting plot. Hahahaha. For a show that is primarily to make us laugh, it's…
You say it so perfectly! Am glad I was able to discuss this drama with you in a deeper way. It’s unfortunate this drama is not getting a lot of attention.

Thank you for sharing. This was actually my takeaway from the show, an appreciation that people like Haru who have a different brain from the ‘norm’ have had to work so much harder to ‘fit in’ and meet expectations that have been set by the majority deemed ‘normal’. That scene where he was bewildered, almost embarassed at how he should be feeling was impactful because he had always been so composed.
Hooking up two people to wires and a computer and making them watch videos and images of distressed people while…
I’m with you on this. Initially, I thought the whole ‘neural coupling’ set up was ridiculous, but as it progressed, Dr Hwang’s motive became very clear and it made complete sense to me why it had to end that way. I thought that was one of the more brilliant point the show was trying to make.
The last 2 episodes were better than expected in how it wrapped things up. There were a few plot lines that felt a bit lazy to get the story moving (like how everyone just walks into psycho grandpa’s obvious traps), but I get what the writer was trying to convey in the end and I like that Haru identified the real reason why Dr Hwang was targeting him. That gave his evil motives so much more credibility than just an old psycho stirring up trouble out of boredom.
It was also very satisfying to hear Haru admitting and appreciating what Myung Se had done for him (though it was to his pet mouse, Algernon and not Myung Se himself). Also, while I was never invested in the love story between Myung Se and So Jung, watching the both of them behave like teenagers was pretty cute.
Overall, while the drama lacked super tight writing and directing, it had interesting enough content and characters to keep it entertaining.
I stopped watching many episodes ago hoping I would continue at some point but now I think I'll just drop it.…
It’s a slow burn bromance, the kind where the bickering never seems to stop but they start to feel mutual respect and at some point, you just know that they would take a bullet for each other. One side of the bromance is very obvious (he’s practically shooting hearts at him) while the other side is literally brain altering.
Started watching but dropped it in the middle of 1st episode..🤷🏻♀️Should I continue it.. 🤔
1st episode was the weakest IMO, 2nd episode was better and it finds its stride from 3rd episode onwards. The neuroscience teamwork is best once Team Leader Seol gets an erm… upgrade.
Ep 13 and 14 Sign me up for Shin Ha Ru’s growing fan club. It took me (and all the characters in the drama) a while to warm up to his obnoxious ways but I love me an anti-hero who just gets things done. And in that 1-to-1 scene with Yina (who deserves a shout out for great emotional acting), I was ready to be hypnotized by his eyes and soothing low voice. Also love how much more comfortable he was being bat-sh*t crazy psycho to the delinquent than doing something ‘normal’ like having a meal with a family.
And to me, forget the love triangles. MyungSe - Haru are my OTP.
So I imagined stupid brotherhood brain that there would be some friendship between the leads twelve episodes in…
I think having someone with Haru’s brain suddenly go soft and cuddly would be completely unrealistic given what we know of his condition. I actually think they’ve progressed a lot, to the point that each would likely take a bullet for the other (which says a lot on Haru’s part, MyungSe would probably take a bullet for anyone because that’s just how he’s wired).
I agree with you on the love line part of the story, not sure where they intend to go with that but it was a tad uncomfortable. I hope Team Leader Seol’s gets to stay bad ass though, I love her strong fashion!
Just finished Ep 12. I find Shin Haru’s character really interesting in the way it’s been written. 12 episodes in and he is just as he was in the beginning, albeit a tiny little bit ‘warmer’ if you can call it that. If you were looking for huge character development, him turning from cold to soft, you might be disappointed but this is the REALITY of someone who has his ‘special’ brain. Every choice he has made, watching his alcohol consumption, staying away from love, or even friendships were calculated to minimize the chance of him losing control. It’s really tragic actually, but also admirable. His coldness and distance is his way of protecting and caring for those around him. And that’s probably Grandpa Villain’s end game, to get Haru to lose control so he will join them in the dark side.
Also, sad to see how the rest of the world immediately turned against Haru once he revealed his brain. At least he has his aunt, the neuroscience team and a very love-struck prosecutor (from middle school, how cute is that!) rooting for him.
Ep 11’s ending! I kinda suspected it, but was not expecting it to be revealed that way. It really does explain why Shin Haru has continued to be so unapologetically an as* after all these episodes, but when you really think about it, he’s actually been displaying a whole lot of self-control given his biological tendencies. Even his fav ‘can you handle the consequence’ phrase make sense - he’s giving others fair warning before he goes crazy.
OK I really don't trust MDL ratings most of the time, so people are watching this right now Is it good like atleast…
Show is perfect for a casual watch. It’s a show that knows that its aim is to entertain while dispensing brain science tit bits and doesn’t try to be something else so if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve found it.
Yong Hwa would be a cool villain with this aura. I'm not familiar with his dramas does anyone now if he's ever…
Not an actual villain, but in Sell Your Haunted House, he played a spirit medium and was usually possessed by vengeful/villainous ghosts. Highly recommended drama by the way, him and JangNara (she’s amazing in this series) had amazing tandem and writing+directing were top notch.
Ep 9 and 10 are the strongest so far. While the actual culprit was pretty obvious, the backstory was really tragic and I wanted to give both brothers a big hug. I like how much of a team the Neuroscience Investigation Unit is now; their chemistry and mutual understanding esp with Dr Brain’s idiosyncrasies. And while our Male Leads continue to bicker, there’s now respect on both sides and I’m hoping to see how they rally behind Haru as Grandpa Villain starts his move. And did anyone else notice how nicely Haru backed his car in Ep 10 compared to his usual as*-h*le parking? Progress, I say!
The bickering is growing on me but the 8th episode was pretty unimpressive overall. It's taken me 2 days to try…
I’m pretty sure at this point that SHR is very close to the psychopath end of spectrum. I find it interesting that what we think is cruel (revenge) his aunt celebrates as improvement (engagement with the world)! Now that he’s discovered the futility of his efforts since GMS’ brain is hardwired for kindness, I’m looking forward to even more bromance.
So now I’m really curious about Haru’s brain. Why is it ‘special’? Why was he always being assessed? Why did they think keeping him away from the world doing research in a lab would be better for him?
Ep 5&6: So much fun amidst the crime solving and brain lectures. MyungSe and Team Leader Seol going undercover is pure comedy gold. Even the love lines here are hilarious - ex-wife and Team Leader shooting hearts at MS while he only has eyes for Haru. The ‘friendship’ between Haru and the creepy grandpa psycho fills me with dread, I know it will only end horribly. But it’s interesting how grandpa psycho’s taunting has only pushed Haru to develop more empathy. I like that Ep 6 didn’t wrap up with solving the crime, but also addressed the root of the mother’s problem which is lack of self-confidence and self-love.
