guys why are you complaining about sad ending?? I think they made it a sad ending to be remembered by everyone…
That ending was not nearly satisfactory to compensate for everything that they've gone through. This is just bad scriptwriting to be honest. Even if they wanted to make it a sad ending, just not like this.
What a shitty shitty shittyy ending. I have no words. The scriptwriter is a sadist. Both of them have suffered since the beginning! The amount of suffering that they both endured for their love journey just to end up this way. And he sacrificed himself to save the world for her and what did she do?!! Kill herself anyway to be with him when he is already dead and probably don't even know she's dead dead to come join him. My goodness. And when the next scene comes in the mortal world, I was praying to all the gods for them to maybe be reincarnated and somehow bump into each other in the mortal realm, even for a 1 minute scene, I would take it because anything is better than that ending but noooooo. The level of my anger went through the roof when the ending song came on!!!!!! Wasted my money. I feel so upset and angry. Suffice to say, I don't think I'll be rewatching this again knowing how they both end up.
I think the most iconic scene and line in this drama is still in ep 9 when he saved XLH and said "how dare you touch my person" and appeared behind her with those majestic black wings... like damnnn. can never forget that scene in all of my xianxia history.

If you really think about where each character started in the beginning of the show, it's crazy how much everyone progressed character wise. Except for maybe the heavenly emperor 🙄 Everyone showed so much growth until the end.
I'm having such a hangover now. I don't know how I will move on from this drama. Will there be a drama that is this good and consistent? I wish I can rewatch this drama again with no memories of having watched it before. It's so good. Some people might think the ending is really rushed but I think it was beautiful and perfect. A bonus episode with all of the characters would be icing on top of a very beautiful and sweet cake.

They deserve all the upcoming awards. The amount of tears I've cried for the past two weeks just for them. Only the emperor I feel did not get the justice he deserved! I even sympathised with rong hao. That man just went too far for the sake of his love. He was not good but he was not all bad and evil too. Such a fascinating grey character.

And esther yu as XLH and xiyun, when she switched from xiyun to XLH and started crying for him, my heart broke to pieces. Both esther and dylan have really good crying faces, Their eyes are tearing and also so clear that I can't help but cry with them too. My only wish that did not happen was the heavenly emperor getting slapped in the face by DFCQ at least once. Even though he showed up in the end, it was a little too late for his character to be redeemable for me.
