I dropped it after ep 3 months ago when it was still airing but recently I picked it up and seeing mukai and sakaido's relationship develop was lovely. I also like the approach the show took on marriage, because I didn't agree with mukai and that's one of the reasons I dropped it. I wish there was more romance, maybe it needed a couple of episodes more, or maybe that's the best ending it could've had, but I don't feel quite satisfied.

YEAH!!! to be honest I didn't understand at first but someone else explained it here. Basically when Jom disappeared he didn't go back to his era, but right back to the 1700s, where he met THAT version of Yai. That explains why Yai fell in love with him at first sight, he had loved him in a previous life. And after god knows what, he also left that era and THEN went back to his own. It's insane writing if you ask me but I love it
