i was thinking that he felt a little too happy with how things were going (with jeng) that he was mindlessly gonna forgive anything and everyone in his life because he really did not give a fuck about those things anymore, yk sometimes there's great moments like that. but going back to him? really pat? i can't decide if this happened purely cuz of a moment of weakness or if pat is trying to test his feelings and see who he really likes, but the preview didn't make it look like that. i'm kinda dissapointed but i haven't read the novel, maybe it makes more sense there
