I think I would laugh to death if they animated the villain. For me the most frustrating thing with this drama is that it started out very strong. The shock of seeing your entire family murdered by your uncle was great. The torn relationship between sisters was nicely portrayed. I was hooked. They had a stellar cast. Everyone was on point in the first few episodes but by episode 10 it started to go downhill for me. I still stuck with it till episode 36 but then they started to introduce too many new characters and I just couldn't watch anymore. I felt like this drama could have been so much better. Could have been awesome with its stellar and popular cast but it started to become "everyone with a love story" I swear...everyone had someone and it became a focus instead of the "revenge" aspect. The revenge part got put on the back burner. As much as I love a nice love story I need the drama and a good script. I just feel that they didn't use the awesome cast that they had appropriately. Everyone had the acting chops but the writing was too weak. Granted some scenes are noteworthy but to me those are just stand alone scenes. I don't know if Im the only one but I feel like they were trying to showcase a lot of newcomers in this drama (Like when a show puts a random product around a scene because of an investor). It was just distracting to me. I really wanted them to dive into the King...show his side...his dilemna...his cleverness....his hard choices.....but it's okay...the drama is over and it is what it is.

hahah so funny. We are polar opposites in this regard. I skip the ML scenes and watch the "so called" 2nd leads. I will go check out Longest Day in Chang An. I need to watch some a- hole Villains to entertain my boring life atm.

Glad you understand. Without a strong foundation the story crumbles for me. I love historical dramas because I love seeing different insights from different types of characters. Especially a well written villain. The best villain for me is the one you love to hate. Im all about the villains when Im watching a show lol. I love a badass villains so that I can love the protagonists and hate myself for understanding the villain as well.... but I didn't really get one here.

LOL. I call him the so called villain because they painted him as so at the beginning. It was because of him that Changee went on her journey of revenge. He is suppose to be the antagonist to her protagonist. But instead of balancing him and her out they focused too much on her story as a whole which then led to SOME audience unable to connect with the story. The show is a pass time for ME ....I did not imply it as it should be for everyone else. This is MY opinion on the drama as a whole. In every good drama there should be a balance between the antagonists and protagonists. Granted it's obvious they made the King not so evil but whats the point when his character wasn't even developed. We just had to assume everything thru true history lol. I do agree that the show is "chang ge xing" but with too much of Changee it was not interesting FOR ME. I have no problems with other people loving the show but I hate it when someone tries to tell me I'm not watching a certain drama "correctly." Not everyone is oblige to love this show as if its a rating of 10. I love watching pretty people but I love a well written story more.

I agree... that is why the show was lacking for me. Everyone seem to forget that only towards the end did they even let Haoyan reunite to have screen time. I laugh every time I read someone comment how mainleads dont have enough screen time. For me It was because they had too many screen time that the story started to feel weak. The lack of development with the villains and secondary characters made it a lack luster. I needed more insight about the King. The story itself was a big mess with so many new characters introduced at every turn. I quit watching by episode 36. Only watching clips here and there. HOnestly they shouldn't even call Haoyan 2nd leads lol. More like background with a side story that had nothing to do with the main leads development. But the show is nice to watch to pass the time. However, I can see why some people like the show. The shots with the romance between the leads is well shown..just the story is lacking. Not a bad show but not the greatest...for me anyways.

I heard lots of GeSun fans not happy. Maybe that's why? And this is how rumors starts people....

They look good together. Hopefully the story is well written. Can't wait to check it out.

ahhahahahaah call them out?? ahhahahhhaah I am not that immature. I leave it alone. I respect their opinions. I don't go policing people how to leave comments. And in this forum 90% is Main Leads fans. YOu say one bad thing and the entire forum will come after you. Two wrong don't make a right but dont make it seem like Haoyan fans are causing all the ruckus here.

People see what they want to see. I just scrolled back and that comment was just 2 days ago so.......yeah......But people like what they like and there is only a handful of active Haoyan fans here. Not a lot. Feel free to support who you like but Im just pointing out the bias of this forum when it comes to policing how one should comment. Granted there are some neutral fans and some people who want to keep the peace in this forum but let's be honest...no fandom is innocent in regards of downgrading another's CP.

Good for you. This forum is quite hypocritical. I saw a comment while back saying how much they didnt like the 2nd lead and how useless their story line is an had to FF to watch only the main couple and yet the same people here happily said "me too." Hardly anyone came out to defend like this. This is why you hardly see Haoyan fans comment here.

LOL. The description of the drama itself is hailing revenge so obviously it did not deliver. And it's laughable to even say there are 4 main leads in this drama. But I'm not going to continue defending my review with you. So don't go attacking other people's reviews and suggesting me to watch a documentary instead. That is just rude. Learn to respect other people's opinions.

I can see that you love this drama very much but you can stop trying to convince me with this excuse. It's pointless. You seem to believe that its normal for a King to send ONE person to find his daughter. ONE. ..the bare minimum. Now I can understand why the normal viewers no longer comment but rather just give honest rating by clicking a button. I bid farewell to this forum.

If i was an Emperor I would have my guards dress in civilians clothes and go looking for my daughter. INCOGNITO. When I say elite I mean a group trained in tracking....spying..... killing.....Not a group dressed up with a sign saying "im looking for the crown princess" YOu see this in lots of dramas so when you see only one guard trying to find a Crown Princess it's laughable.

We will never know. The show doesn't show us much regarding Li Shimin's train of thought. His character development is lacking so there are many questions regarding his actions towards Leyan. At this point we can only make up reasons on our own. I haven't found my reason why he shows more love towards Changee than his own daughter...it's just weird. Normally a father would love his daughter regardless....so the love he shows Changee sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable just because of how he neglects his own flesh and blood. But that's just me.

......Okay ...but know that not all audience will buy this excuse. Afraid of her being kidnapped by the enemy?.. Um...she still ended up kidnapped but luckily escaped (but only in a drama..in real life the odds are against her). But hey....whatever excuse makes the drama work for you then go for it. Just at least accept the fact that not every viewer would give think the same because I do not. Like i said..no need to deploy troops but at least an elite group. But oh well....I'm done stating my stance on it. I respect that you find this reason reasonable but I ask the same that you respect that it's a bogus excuse for me.

dude. So you are telling me because the nation is still young....empire hasn't stabilized yet so he can only afford one guard to look for his daughter....and audiences are to buy that? Um..okay..lol. Even a normal familly can get more than one person to find their missing child let alone royalty. But hey...I can't speak for all viewers. I guess some find it believable so I'll just leave it at that. The show doesn't give him that much importance so I don't wanna spend that much energy dissecting his character. Like many ...I didn't even know when he became emperor all of a sudden. Time went by so fast and he grew a mustache lol.

Hmm....I think that was the Director's comment saying that because Reba has a mole under her eye just like in the manga but I don't think the manga artist said that. But it is a nice coincidence.

You should totally check it out. You will definitely see the difference. Reba has come a long way but she does need to keep improving but isn't that the fun of following an actress or actor? It's only when you see no improvement that it becomes saddening. I wouldn't want to hinder someone's career just because they are just lacking in some areas....everyone needs experience to do better. I do think one of Reba's weakness is the emotional crying scenes but she excels in the strong..cold...vengeful look.

She does but so does Lusi hehehe. I can see growth in Reba's acting since I did pay attention to her when she played the fox in the pillow book saga. So Im not surprise that she is gaining fans. But for me I have high hopes for Lusi. At first I was so afraid she'd be type cast so when I saw her role here I was ecstatic because I know my girl can cry. Not everyone can cry so naturally and heartbreaking while saying their lines. For me Lusi does very well.
