I watch this drama for the male lead. I don’t like the female lead, there is no chemistry between them. And…
Im a fan of Lusi since I like to support new comers but I don't think she would have fit this role. I think Reba is doing very well. I prefer her mature look to play the strong female lead...honestly it would have been better if the show didn't necessarily stick to the actual age depicted in the manhua. It would have been fine to not even tackle the age aspect at all because it's not really important. I find her very beautiful and nothing wrong with her looks but I know everyone has their own opinion and I'll respect that.
This is one of the biggest flaws of the show. It failed to give enough focus on it's antagonist. It would have…
LMAO. Yeah but honestly by episode 12 I had accepted the fact that the antagonist of the show was not going to play an impactful role as I would like. It is what it is. This show has it's merits . It has awesome actors and actresses and some scene are very note worthy but cohesively it's a bit lacking. But still an enjoyable drama. Better than most dramas this year.
I am surprised li shimin totally forgot about his daughter li leyan. His complete focus is on changge that he…
This is one of the biggest flaws of the show. It failed to give enough focus on it's antagonist. It would have been better if we could see more of Li shimin's inner demons. When I watch a show I want equal development between the protagonists and it's villains when it doesn't happen you can just feel something is missing.
It's ridiculous regarding his treatment towards Le Yan. I gave up even reasoning why only one guard looking for the Crown Princess lol. It just paints how weak his kingdom is...not enough man power to locate your daughter? Granted you don't want to make it obvious that the Crown Princess is missing but shouldn't you have a dedicated elite group to find her? It's absurd.
Okay. So I’m really loving leyan & the cute wild kid with an intelligence of a old man but I’m sensing I have…
I know I will cry my eyes out. Probably because I have children too so whenever there's a scene of little children getting hurt or dying I cry a river.
Yes such a character is easy to love by viewers as she is what society depicted of a female and the gallantry…
That's why I enjoy her character. Im glad they add layers to her growth. And I would cry too if I was her. I don't even think Im brave enough not to kneel. Im greedy for life hahahha. Thank god Im not a princess...I would let my people down lol.

Yes. This is also a huge flaw with the show. People have to understand that most regular viewers don't care that this drama is based on a manga nor will they go do their research. This drama is set in ancient times and they don't treat women equal so I can see why many think it's ridiculous that a prime minister or general ( i forgot what title he was lol) would just trust a young girl regarding military tactics. In the manga it's fine but put on screen it doesn't make sense. They needed to develop Changee more...show her cleverness earlier on regarding military tactics instead of making audience assume her uncle taught her so much. The unbalance of focus given for the antagonists and side characters also makes it hard for regular audience to develop an attachment to the story. Plus they keep introducing more characters ...just seems such a big mess. I don't even know why they showed Wuyu ( i think thats how you spell his name..he kinda disappeared LOL the actor that plays him is hilarious...he trolls his own character hahahaha) .But I still enjoy bits and pieces of the show but it's by far a drama that is epic.

Pretty sure there are tons of people loving the strong FL and her love line with the ML but to say the reason I ...myself enjoy Leyan because I want to see some guy save her than thats a no. I am loving her journey ....not waiting for a man to save her. What I find a problem is people make others feel like it's degrading for a viewer to still like the cliche trope of damsel in distress and her gallantry man. I see plenty of love for the FL and ML for this show so don't think the concept is unaccepting. The story as a whole has flaws which leaves room for critiques. Hell...I could even critique the 2nd couple for the insane ridiculousness that it takes a guard this long to locate a princess. If this was my guard you would have been fired ages ago.
Just loving Leyan's journey. Her role is indeed a damsel in distress that evokes one to save and protect but what we have here is no one is saving her. What she experience is the goodness and cruelty in the world that exist for civilians during these turbulent times. This is why I am so drawn to her story line. Even with such small screen time her character development is on point.

You're welcome. I've been watching dramas for 30+ years so its not easy for me to rate a drama a 10. So I do try to honestly rate and give my honest opinion. Usually by episode 10 I would know if the drama is worth my obsession or just a drama that could help me pass the time.
I don't understand the ratings here. First 9 , after 8.6 and for a long time 8.5 and now 8.2. What happened?I…
You should always watch and decide for your own because everyone is different. Personally for me I can see why it dropped gradually. The first few episodes succeeded in sucking you in with the story line alone pair it with good acting but gradually the story (for me anyways) became a bit irrational. Granted this show is based off a manga but realistically most people who are watching have probably never read the manga or will go and read it...so they will not even bother to give this drama some slack for some of the plot. I myself I have read the manga and enjoyed it but when put on screen with live action I find myself finding some of the circumstances ridiculous. I won't go into detail since some do enjoy the show and I'm not really wanting to critique every episode but for me....I can see why the gradual decline. But I still watch my bits since Im a sucker for the 2nd lead but even with their story it wouldn't be able to make me sway my opinion on the drama as a whole. But like I said...everyone is different. Some really love it some has quit. Best to always judge for yourself and ignore ratings because you might miss out on something that you would've enjoyed immensely :)
What if they use the drawings for that scene? (0_0)
LMAO. Im not a fan either. Like you I like battle scenes and when it shifted to animation I was caught off guard. But I heard this was filmed during the pandemic so I give them kuddos for avoiding scenes with too many people in one frame. Safety is more important than the show itself. I can't imagine the uproar if there was a COVID outbreak on set due to the preparation of battles scenes....its like damn if you do and damn if you dont.
about second leads.. how many scenes do they have as of now? not many?
Unfortunately not that many. I'd say maybe a good total of 10 minutes of them both on screen together from ep 1-18. Individually they have short scenes scattered throughout the episodes
Oh my princess. She cried so deep and heart wrenching. Seeing and experiencing the cruelness of the world is painful for such a sheltered person. Damn...her character is so nice to see. She's weak..timid..innocent...naive and so compassionate. She met bad people as well as good people. The good thing to see is that Leyan is experiencing harsh situations as well as meeting good people. Even though we see sadness from her we also see some happiness when she encounters good people. The heartbreak of feeling useless is beyond imaginable especially when it involves young childen. She gonna make me cry!!
Enormous spoiler, for when 'someone' finds 'someone', as you know 'someone's' a little bit lost, right.Only watch…
I dont know to laugh or cry. Can't believe they have her missing for so long. Gotta wait all the way to episode 26?! So insane lol. Well at least I know to check back in a couple weeks.
same :D i am skipping all drama just to watch their scenes, i hope they get a happy ending and hopefully leyan…
I'm also skipping until they show up hahahaha. I know Leyan will grow stronger but with her character she will always still have to rely on someone. But that for me is the beauty of her character. She is weak physically and mentally now but she is in a position to make changes as a crown princess later. With that power she can have a voice and with the help of Hao Du she can make a difference in her own way.
