Congratulations to both of them! They look good together :) I have been watching Shin Hye since Stairway of Heaven days so this definitely makes me feel old.
YES YES YES I love so many of these dramas & movies!! Thank you so much for this article. Now I need to check out Squid Game. Hope it's as good as they say. Appreciate that you always share & review Japanese content, they deserve so much more viewership & appreciation esp here on MDL :)
Their wedding at the end is easily one of the most natural & beautiful wedding sequences I have seen in a drama. The way they looked at each other, the words they said, the way they kissed each other so many times, the rain, and all that happiness glowing on their faces & everyone's faces... lost count of how many times I have re-watched it.
And Sakamato Yuji did it again. A charming, relatable & quirky drama filled with interesting characters, rich interactions & their delightful stories; this was a fulfilling watch in every way. I'm gonna miss the banter between all the characters so so much. In the months of watching this, I grew so attached to all of them. They truly felt like home. Highly recommended for all!
When Hanako lost her son, it reminded me of how I experienced the same thing a few months ago, it was very hard…
Thank you for your recommendations! Okaeri Mone has been on PTW list for sometime. I wanted to binge it after it ended. Guess I'm gonna watch that next.
I'm on E7, and they're cute. I like the chemistry, and the way they're taking things slow but it's a little too perfect & neat? She's too composed, and he's too sweet. And the biggest issue - they just don't feel like a real couple. Heck we've not even seen them have a proper conversation about their lives, their experiences or anything real.. everything just comes across as superficial. I hope we'll get to see more as the show progresses otherwise it's such a waste of their chemistry / potential.
Set against the backdrop of WW2, this was a bittersweet and inspiring story about family bonding, love, community support and overcoming loss and grief, with one of the most beautiful love stories I've seen in a while. Beautifully scored, picturised and acted, this is a must watch for all! A 10/10 drama in every aspect.
Let me start off by saying this - this is not a drama for everybody. In a show of this sort of genre, you'd expect huge revelations and growth, but this wasn't like that. I'd say it was more realistic (than dramatic). It had a slow-paced and slightly relaxing vibe. The characters weren't out rightly positive or negative. They were real. I feel like this drama will resonate much more strongly with an older audience as the characters were of an older age group, and the show spoke of a certain nostalgia and emphasized an importance of knowing and appreciating our history (bombing of Nagasaki being a huge backdrop). Special mention for the last episode - it made me emotional.
All in all, I liked this. It is a decent drama that I'd recommend to an audience that likes to watch something slow-paced, unique and filled with nostalgia (historical/cultural elements included.)
I ate mozzarella cheese sticks today & instantly thought of Karibe haha MOZZARELLA CHEEESE LMAOOO <3 Need to re-watch this. It was my happy pill back when it aired.
