Dating a minor is a punishable offence by the law. You may ask why. That's because minors, no matter how mature…
While the correct legal term would be having sex, I don't see any problem with using the word dating. Dating is not synonymous to having sex but it does prove an intent to have sex because it involves the desire to find a sexual / romantic partner, and the ambits of grooming include meeting and communicating with an intent to commit a sexual offence - so when a minor and adult date (or any 2 sexual adults date), there is a higher likelihood that sex would be involved, though that act has to be proven. The very fact that he dated her and hid it is questionable, and can be used against him.
She's dead so it might be difficult to prove that they had sex, but there are pictures of him kissing her which might indicate that they did have some physical relations. Also, I don't know about South Korean law, but kissing a minor is punishable in some countries.
Dating a minor is a punishable offence by the law. You may ask why. That's because minors, no matter how mature they may appear, are not capable of making important decisions. They are still considered a kid, and kids are less developed than adults in every way; physically, cognitively, socio-emotionally and so on. Their cosent is, thus, questionable. Yes, sometimes minors and adults may genuinely fall in love BUT the adult is held responsible because he/she is in a status of manipulating the kid (specifically grooming). Why can't the adult find someone nearer his age? In this case, there is an added layer of grooming in that not only was KSH older, but he was in a position of influence which makes it easier for him to manipulate and dominate her. He may not have done it outrightly, but it would have played out in subtle forms in the relationship. And that is the problem.
He did not kill her, but he was in a position to help her emotionally. He was her boyfriend. Emotions aside, his agency (acting for him) was also involved financially, and we cannot say that his agency and him are complete separate entities because he had power to dictate the decisions the agency made.
The fact that he lied about dating her and left her to harrassment by his fangirls is very telling of the kind of person he was. If they were consenting adults and it was just a normal relationship with a normal breakup, why did he hide it in the first place?
All these factors make the case shady.
We are not fussing over a simple love story here. Heck, was it even a love story, we do not know.
The first 3-4 episodes were so loud and messy that I expected this to be a batshit lakorn with a love hexagon.…
HIS 'I LOVE TOILET' AND HER 'I LOVE POLICE' T-SHIRT IN THE LAST EPISODE HAD ME SCREAMINGGGGGGGGG. ALSO, I WASN'T EXPECTING THE RETURN OF THE NURSE COSTUME!!!!!! HAHAHAAHAHHAAHHAHA Very creative!
The first 3-4 episodes were so loud and messy that I expected this to be a batshit lakorn with a love hexagon. But the tonal shift in the episodes thereafter thoroughly surprised me, and made this an enjoyable watch. I loved the fiesty FL and her refusal to take shit from anyone. The ML was likeable too; he made me melt with his smile and the way he hugged her. Bright / Kao's chemistry was top notch. The leads bickered a lot but I adored how it was balanced with a fair amount of communication, especially with the way they addressed their growing feelings and growing sexual tension at various points. Very very rare for a lakorn. The second leads were adorable and uncomplicated. There were some annoying characters like Aik and his wife, which could have been written better, but I like that they popped up only once in a while and were bearable enough. The crime / mystery element was decent but I didn't care much for it. All in all, a very enjoyable and watchable lakorn. I'd definitely recommend this!
Such a refreshing and fun article! I enjoyed reading it :)

That headline is very clearly biased. Didn't he deny having any romantic involvement with her and throw her under the bus for his fangirls to harass her and call her attention seeker? So how come suddenly he is admitting to the relationship? Why did he have to hide it if they were 2 consenting adults? Plus she's a celebrity herself so there wouldn't be that much flak. Clearly there is something shady here. I was holding off on making any speculations but the agency's statements confirm that there is truth to her family's claims, and his agency (him) are clearly lying. Not only did he groom her, but he clearly utilised his status to pressure her financially and emotionally. Also I don't believe in coincidences.. of all the days, she chose to kill herself on his birthday and that is telling.
I don’t see anyone commenting about this, but I got so pissed of by ML behavior at ep13, and I was totally agreeing…
Same here LOL. I really loved the range of emotions the scene had - from jealousy to anger to that sexual tension and then heartbreak.. but I wasn't expecting those smiles at the end LOL (especially not after she walked out teary-eyed) I was like WHAT ARE THE TWO OF THEM HAPPY ABOUT?!
I came here to abuse KSH but your comment made me stop myself. Its amazing how u always find such sensitive&kind…
Hey! It's been a while. Hope you are doing well :) And thank you for such kind words. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting such a positive reply to my comment HAHA! I am not always positive, but I try to be. I guess I find it pointless to argue with strangers or abuse others on the internet. Unless my words are going to make the world a better place, I'd rather be quiet or say something positive. Like I always say, live and let live.
I don't wish to speculate and label despite the strong evidences as I don't want to be a part of the the same cycle of pushing another celebrity (even if he is the perpetrator) to darkness and death.
Harm has already been done. I just hope that justice will be served. It won't bring her alive, but at least, it might give others who are struggling some hope and strength that suicide is not an answer, and that they have a chance to fight and win against their perpetrators.
RIP Kim Sae Ron. I hope you are at a better place now.
Apparently Phuwin has a guest role in this and he would've been about 2 y/o. Does anyone know the episode(s) and/or…
There is just 1 scene in the first and last episode involving the leads as young kids. But they are much older children. I don't remember seeing any babies in this.
