Korean and Japanese drinks a lot and it is part of their culture.
It depends on which soju you buy. Some may not be that alcoholic like i think maybe around 10% while some could be as high as 50%. But yes, generally soju is a lot stronger than wine and beer. Unless you have a very high tolerance, it's easy to get drunk on it, unlike the other two.
Ths was something for sure. But i really hated the way they tried to conclude tht trash bag ryo character that's…
I think that was very realistic. The boyfriend, though abusive, was in a relationship defined normal by society so he walked away without consequence while the leads, though very normal, will never be able to lead a normal life because their relationship is not recognised by society to be legitimate. Sad reality..
It's just a general question as I'm curious about it, I hope no one feel offended... How can they drink so much…
I just remembered this anecdote.. When my colleague's sister turned 19, guess what she gave her sister as a present? Bottles of soju with all the different flavours And when they got home, her mum and dad all bought soju as well And it was a huge joke because none of them told each other HAHA

Japanese also drink a lot, but there is a good percentage of the population (particularly women) who don't drink, or stick to beer. South Korea, on the other hand, has a larger percentage of the population that drinks, both men and women included. But yeah drinking is a huge cultural activity for both countries.

I stayed in South Korea for a while and yes, they drink a lot. Drinking is seen as a way of socializing, doing business, celebrating or coping with daily stress / grief etc If I am not wrong, they have one of the highest alcohol consumption in the world. I don't drink, and many people either thought I was weird, or tried to get me to drink. It wasn't the best experience. And yes, there are a lot of consequences on their health due to all the drinking. You can google it for more information.
