They get used to it. It's a part of their lifestyle.
I am not a huge drinker but I have drank with my parents too.
I guess it's a cultural difference?

It's just a general question as I'm curious about it, I hope no one feel offended... How can they drink so much…
I just remembered this anecdote..
When my colleague's sister turned 19, guess what she gave her sister as a present? Bottles of soju with all the different flavours
And when they got home, her mum and dad all bought soju as well
And it was a huge joke because none of them told each other
HAHA

Korean and Japanese drinks a lot and it is part of their culture.
Japanese also drink a lot, but there is a good percentage of the population (particularly women) who don't drink, or stick to beer.
South Korea, on the other hand, has a larger percentage of the population that drinks, both men and women included.
But yeah drinking is a huge cultural activity for both countries.

I stayed in South Korea for a while and yes, they drink a lot. Drinking is seen as a way of socializing, doing business, celebrating or coping with daily stress / grief etc
If I am not wrong, they have one of the highest alcohol consumption in the world.
I don't drink, and many people either thought I was weird, or tried to get me to drink. It wasn't the best experience.
And yes, there are a lot of consequences on their health due to all the drinking. You can google it for more information.

Predictable, but intriguing and enjoyable nonetheless. Both the leads were great!

Isn't this literally "Watashi no Oyome-kun" + kid? Seems like Japanese writers are really out of ideas. It's almost…
The dramas you're probably stumbling upon or choosing to watch are the ones that fit those descriptions because there are so many great ones that don't fit into either. Japan makes a huge variety. Some recent ones that were fantastic, amongst the many -

Unmet: Aru Nogekai no Nikki
Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san
Owakare Hospital
Grace no Rireki
Fence
Brush Up Life

I actually like the role reversal with her being the cold one and he being the softer one.. and yes I also can feel that she loves him more.

Do you mind spoiling the ending for me, please.
Thank you!

Quite agree with some parts but here's my view too 1.If you're watching a romance drama that revolves around a…
Thank you for your insight.

I watch a lot of black comedies and I absolutely dig dark humour. But this drama is not a black comedy. Just because there is some comedy and the roles are reversed, that doesn't make it a black comedy. This is an out and out melodrama. I guess we can agree to disagree on this.
There are tons but these are some examples of a good black comedy-

If they were going to separate by the end of the drama, I would be perfectly ok with his reaction. But because it is a romance drama, I cannot accept the fact that he rejoiced over the fact that she might die. Infusing humour here does not work.
Are you trying to say that his reaction over her death is ok because it is unique and hilarious? If anybody expresses relief and joy over my death, I would never want to talk to them anymore because that would mean they never loved me. I cannot accept someone having that thought even for a second. And I am pretty sure majority of viewers who watched this drama would not be able to accept it either. Of course if you say that it's ok, then I have nothing to say any further but commonly, people don't wish death even upon their enemies. Here she is his wife. No matter how much he is going to eventually regret it, I cannot accept it. That is just bad writing in my opinion. It is unique but not in a good way, and the writer should not have gone for that angle because it left a bad taste. I don't think anyone would be able to convince me otherwise. Again, if they were gonna go for a toxic relationship / vibe, that would be ok but because they're obviously gonna redeem him into some nice guy who loves her that doesn't sit well with me.

Regarding point 2 - I guess you didn't get my point. It's ok. I am just going to say that my opinion is the exact opposite. Their carefulness, formality and awkwardness makes them look like a couple who has never been in love before. I work with couples on the verge of a divorce day in and day out so I've seen varieties of couples who are distant. No matter how distant, there is a sense that you knew this person once upon a time but in their case I don't see it at all. I am not saying I'm an expert, but that's just the way I see it. That familiarity is missing for both of them. The focus is not on making them fall in love. It is on them realising that they never stopped loving each other, and both these two are different.

If a drama can't hook me in 5 hours+ then clearly it's not for me. And I am not saying it's bad. I just didn't enjoy it.

I am happy for you if you enjoyed this. Nothing like watching something you enjoy :)
