Episodes 7 and 8, chef's kiss! I enjoyed these episodes so much. It is rare for me to watch a drama where it gets better and better with each episode, like this one. I laughed so much and got emotional, too. The drama is both fun and moving. I understand now why KHY picked this script. I love Eun Ho and Si Yeol's conversations. I really like it when a drama couple speaks to each other beyond a superficial, transactional level. You can see they know each other at a deeper level. Their bond is really beautiful, and it is so lovely how authentic they are with each other and how protective they are of one another. And their chemistry is so good, it's like watching a flower bloom!
i think the whole chemistry complain is people still not getting over Kim Hye yoon and byeon woo seok..we have…
Yes, KHY and BWS have great chemistry on and off screen. I enjoyed Lovely Runner very much, too. Lovely Runner, though, has a completely different story structure. And their on-screen chemistry was helped by their grand romance. Sun-jae is head over heels for Im Sol from the start. From the first episode, Sun-jae has looked at Im Sol with longing, loving eyes in almost every interaction between them, because he fell in love with her even before their first in-person interaction in the drama. Lovely Runner is all about their romance. while No Tail to Tell is not. So we can't expect similar on-screen chemistry. For me, it is just a different kind of chemistry for a different kind of love story. Love comes in all shapes and sizes. As for off-screen chemistry, I think KHY and Lomon have as much off-screen chemistry as KHY and BWS, but a different vibe, cute and sweet and a bit chaotic, just my opinion though.
Some people on this board complain about the leads' chemistry. To me, this is exactly the chemistry they should deliver for this specific story. And many people are loving their chemistry on other platforms. So I am not the only one. First, I don't even think their love story is the main theme of this drama. The writers are much more invested in exploring other themes, which are actually very interesting to me. Their romantic chemistry isn't supposed to be strong yet in this story. Their story is not like a typical rom-com, where the leads basically fall in love hard quite early on or develop a secret love and yearn for each other. Here, it is a true slow burn. They have constantly bickered, been genuinely annoyed with each other, and at times resented each other. I love their story though, cause their bond will already be very strong and deep when their romance officially starts. They are authentic and can be themselves with each other, which is beautiful. If you want to see whether they can have strong romantic chemistry in another context or drama with a strong right off the bat loveline, you can look at behind-the-scenes footages, their interviews, their photoshoots, when they are not their characters who are grumpy to each other anymore, where they can interact very friendly, you will see (or not cause chemistry is a subjective thing), they have as much romantic chemistry as any of her previous pairings. They are adorable together in those, completely different vibes than their characters here. But to me, they are so cute together here, too, in this drama hehe - Love my Nick and Judy (Zootopia) in human forms.
First of all, if Eun Ho can't access her home, where does she get her clothes from? Secondly, a gumiho can enjoy…
From what I understand, Geum Ho wants to become human first because that is what is expected of a nine-tailed fox (parallel human theme: many of us strive to do what society expects of us). After being asked about that in Si Yeol's home, Geumho was confused. Later on, after Eun Ho asked her again and again at the amusement park, if she really wanted to be a human, she said yes, definitely, and gave her the real reason. It is because when you are human, you can feel more. With all her spiritual powers, Eunho, when she was a nine-tailed fox, basically didn't have to work hard for anything; she teleported herself wherever she wanted (vs. getting muscleache after a hike), she did rock climbing using her power of flying around, she created a chair without much hard work, by snapping a finger, she wasn't scared at all when going to this secluded temple (vs. being very scared in the haunted house) etc. So to become human for Geumho is to feel more, to live wholeheartedly, to laugh out loud, etc., instead of living each day indifferently. Another part of the folklore of the nine-tailed fox is that becoming human is how they evolve spiritually to a higher level. Plus, to experience true love and connection. And Eunho would have chosen that path too if not for what had happened to Geumho centuries ago.
AH BODY SHAMING - making sure that we ALWAYS see a HUGE ML and TINY FL on the scene... and that makes heart flutter…
Please take your toxic body shaming away. You are like a kid throwing a tantrum. No, I shouldn't compare your action to a kid's. Because kids are innocent, with their tantrums, but your intention is just hate. Your writing is nonsense. Skilled actresses and actors of all heights should get a role. And there are plenty of actresses taller than KHY getting main roles. And plenty of actors with a shorter height get roles too. KHY said the reason she was rejected for many years from bigger opportunities was her height. People in this society value a tall and skinny, model-like appearance. You know that full well, so stop spreading your hatred and toxic words. There is also no rule that only people of comparable heights can make a good couple, both in dramas and real life. If it bothers you so much to write up these toxic words, watch something else. I can't even believe my eyes reading this rubbish you wrote. As long as your words are toxic, I will call you out.
On Episode 6, what can I say? This drama is a GEM! If the last episode made me laugh out loud so much, Episode 6 moved me so much. I love the writing, the acting, the dialogue, the slow-burning chemistry, and the bond between the leads deepening each day. And their bond is beautiful. A fox who has built a wall around her heart because of a major earlier traumatic event, and a human who is so kind at heart. It seems cliché, but it is told so beautifully in this drama. I love how the leads aren't these perfect human beings whose only fault is noble idiocy. This is definitely a very rewatchable drama for me. A drama that makes you think deeply about human life. Every character is beautifully written and layered. There are many layers to the dialogues, so many quotable things; I can see the writers put a lot of thought into the words.
Fox/Eun Ho is getting boring bc of her constant yelling bickering dissing bullying etc. It is just ... too flat.…
This is blatant body shaming. She often gets paired with tall actors, and there is plenty of chemistry. Chemistry is subjective; just because you don't see it, it doesn't mean others don't. Also, you probably haven't seen real-life couples with a big height gap; there are plenty of them. And no, KHY doesn't look like a child, and even if she does, this is just rude body shaming for a nearly 30-year-old actress.
I enjoyed EP5 a lot and laughed out loud so much throughout the episode. This episode is definitely a stress buster! LOL. I don't think the central theme of this drama is the romance as of this episode. So those who come into this drama expecting a grand romance, head-over-heels kind of love from the first few episodes, you won't get it. However, I actually enjoy this so much. As I said in another post, I love how the drama explores human traits from different perspectives. I love their partners-in-crime, cute, and quirky chemistry; it's what their characters call for. If the characters call for a cheesier, more tension-filled chemistry like most romance dramas do, they can deliver it too, just watch their interviews and their photoshoots :) They are completely different in those. And that's how they are good actors. Anyway, if you are on the fence, give it a chance until Episode 4. I've watched many dramas over the years, and this is one I won't forget.
I really don't like what they do with ML, he stole fate of his friend in first place, and now when lost it after…
I don't think he knows that he and his friend swapped fate. For all he knows, his friend got into an accident, he was the witness and he got a wish to have the culprit confess. Or did i miss something? He has also worked really hard to get to where he is now (or was until the 2nd fate swap). He didn't let himself rest for a day (even for a championship celebration) or indulge in delicious food at all. It is not just fate that has got him to where he was.
Episode 4: What a cliff hanger!!! Thankfully, the next episode preview calmed me down a bit lol. I love this episode a lot. So many laugh-out-loud moments. And Eunho and Siyeol, at this stage of their relationship, have the Nick and Judy (Zootopia) chemistry, a slow burn, and so cute! I love a romcom series when it is more than just a love story with familiar, overused formulas. Feel like my time spent watching is worthwhile. Most romance shows, I forget a lot of what actually happens after watching them cause there is not much to think about. Only a few are memorable, but this I won’t forget because my brain was busy enjoying and reflecting on all the wonderful dialogues! So many things've crossed my mind when watching this: perspectives on love, power, greed, hardship, insider vs. outsider views, friendship, hard work, fate, confidence, ego, world balance, personal balance, etc.
im a fan of kim hye yoon, but there is absolutely no chemistry between her and Lomon, i dont even feel a static…
For me, they have a lot of chemistry. Chemistry is subjective, though, so yeah. I never saw a sibling vibe in them. To me, they give a super cute and cool couple vibe. They look about the same age to me. And their chemistry from previews and interviews was actually one of the factors that drew me to watch the series.
Oh my, episode 3 is so good! This is a lot deeper than how the show's marketing has been pointing at so far. KHY is really so good in this role. You forgot all her other characters. She is Eunho, the gumiho. And you can see even more of Eunho's personality here in this episode. And Lomon is great in this episode. He finally has more screen time here. The tension is fire! It is gonna be so satisfying to see all the character development as the series develops.
Episode 3 will come soon! So excited! Hadn't had this feeling of looking forward to the next episode of something for a while. Didn't expect episode 2's ending at all.
I like this drama from Episode 1, but I love it from Episode 2, and can’t wait for next Friday! The dialogues are so rich - I enjoy reflecting on them. Eun Ho's current life points to many issues in modern life. Underneath it all, she is a lonely gumiho. The director said that this drama is a fairytale for adults.
The Mydramalist Comments sections for popular dramas over the past few years have been toxic spaces. There are overreactions from both sides - haters and some fans; however, with haters' and troll raters’ actions, it impacts the hardworking people who work on dramas. And the genuine people who come here to check out a drama will be really confused. Yes, I call some people haters, as opinions should be communicated respectfully, not trashing down actors and actresses or using rude words to express your dislikes, or worse yet, just write something bad because you hate an actor or actress in the drama. It is just a drama after all. Nobody from the production team hurts you. This goes both ways - haters and fans. You can say free speech, but some opinions contribute to the toxicity of the space. Haters can deny all they want, but you know if you are a hater. And in many cases, people can see that, too. That normally comes through your language, your patterns of communication, and your patterns of being here. It is a free space, but unless someone speaks up, it will stay a toxic free space, under the guise of expressing opinions. Bullies can express opinions, too, and they are still bullies. And if bullying can be called out. Haters who troll for no good reason can be called out, too. This is not about not being able to accept disagreement. Bullies have reasons for bullying, too. Plenty of opinions, dislikes, or disagreements when communicated respectfully and genuinely are responded to nicely here. And when you express your genuine opinion and are met with overaction or rudeness, that shouldn’t be the case either. My perception is that fans can get triggered by all the hate that's been here since before the drama premiered. I am not someone who is interested in spending time on spreading hate in the discussion space of a drama that hasn’t started, so I don’t understand that either. But to each their own. And the cycle continues...
I miss when Mydramalist was peaceful, the discussion was genuine, and focused on the drama itself, and fans didn't have to worry about people downrating a drama for no good reason. Again, thoughtful low ratings are certainly welcome, but I don’t think we can say that for all the raters here, given the current Mydramalist rating and how well-received this drama is globally.
I am just saying, I haven’t had time yet to start the drama, but this is misinformation. It's not a statistic…
Yes, you are right. I will modify my comment above about the raters' statistics. Thank you for pointing that out. In any case, with my years of watching dramas and seeing their ratings, this rating is very low for this drama's quality, which is suspicious.
Remember guys alot of ppl love it so far, ignore whatever negativity ppl are yapping under this. 🩵So far it's…

Edited from my previous post, a user below pointed out my misunderstanding of Mydramalist statistics. Thank you, all clear now. I wish there were a way for us to examine the rating's validity. In any case, based on my observations of Mydramalist ratings over the years, this rating is very low for this drama's quality, so it is suspicious and may suggest troll raters. When a lot of people work hard on a drama, including the cast and the whole production team, I don't understand the need to put down others' work without a genuine evaluation and respect for others' hard work. Treat others and their work as you want to be treated.
The ‘evil’ gumiho role doesn’t really fit the main actress for me. She lacks that aura, and maybe because…
I think she is not supposed to be "evil" in this drama, even from the beginning. I haven't watched Snow Drop but she played a villain character there, and I came across so many praises for her acting in that drama.
Love this drama so far! It is refreshing, and the characters have depth rather than just being there to drive the plot. I also enjoy the dialogues - there are many one can reflect on about human life, the butterfly effect, etc. There was a lot happening in Ep 1, so the pacing felt a bit abrupt at times. Episode 2 is, however, great! I am invested now in what will happen to the characters. The cast's acting is great as well, and I love KHY's varied expressions. She is adorable as the Gen Z gumiho.
