True but from the previews, the writers are again writing them to be apart just to frustrate the hell out of us.…
Yeah, I've already accepted that the writing isn't that great. Not exactly holding my breath to be blown away by the next 10 episodes in terms of plot. If I rewatch this, I would be fast forwarding through nearly half the drama to get past the filler stuff that doesn't even involve OTP. But my point is that the acting is so damn good, it's ridiculous. Like it needs to be realized that this probably won't be happening in cdrama universe again anytime soon. The level of acting that is Chang Chen and Ni Ni for a drama that is of this budget and this sort of content... I'm still confused how it happened.
Finally caught up on recent episodes and I have to say, although there is much to critique about the mediocre writing at times, the acting on the other hand, has so far more than make up for every single one of those flaws. Our leads... holy guacamole... they just blow me away. I'm completely tied to their every emotion in every scene. Really, how did we get so lucky that such talented film actors have decided to pick up a drama like this? I mean, let's be honest, it's Xian Xia for one, the writing is decent but full of predictability and plot holes, the CGI is cringe-worthy, but in spite of all this, Chang Chen and Ni Ni have totally taken it to the next level. I refuse to accept any arguments that these two aren't phenomenal at their craft. And it's such a mutual combination of talent. Neither carries the weight for the other. Now that we're nearing the end, I'm getting the blues just thinking about if or when we'll ever get something else that measures up to this.
This whole I'm-jealous-of-my-past-incarnation-because-I-don't-have-any-memories-of-it-even-though-I'm-the-SAME-damn-person misunderstanding is getting so old. I can't empathize at all.
The costumes for this series are not that great for both Ni Ni and Chang Chen. I feel like they dress the other…
We must have different taste. I love the styling here, especially the simple dresses A-Mo has been wearing in recent episodes, more so than the stuff she was wearing as LX which was identical to BQ’s wardrobe. JC looks great in anything but that’s my Chang Chen bias speaking, haha.
Has anyone read the book? Pls spoil for me is it going to be a happy ending? In the previews it looks like there’s…
There's no book, it's an original screenplay. And don't worry, since it's this universe, and we already saw what happened in Peaches, even if JC dies, he'll probably still come back to life XD
From the spoiler, did Ah Mo ask that if she die (at that demon mountain place) LX can come back? It’s kinda…
I've seen this trope played out quite a few times in other stories and never understood the dilemma. I guess I just imagine that if it were me in such a hypothetical situation, I would not feel that if someone loved me in my past life it meant they were in love with a different person. It is still the same soul. Sure, her personality is different and it is a result of the nurture and life experience A-Mo experienced which differs from LX, but at the end of the day, the core is still there. JC loves her soul in its many aberrations.
Is that because she was poisoned and its her time to go back? I'm also curious to see what happens....
I thought she was coughing up blood because she was angry/shocked. She's looking at JC like he's done something to betray her, at least that's my interpretation. JX also seems like he's blaming JC for something.
I'm surprised this mortal arc is spanning all the way up to ep 50. That means only 10 episodes for the third life.
Can someone please please please do a quick summary of that long trailer for 40-50? I'm so curious to know what happened starting at that scene where she coughs up blood. Biting my fingernails!!!
I have to admit that although I wasnt quite into episode 33 to 36, I can't really say this part dragged. A lot…
Completely agree, I did enjoy TMOPB for what it was when I watched it, but it was riddled with things that bugged me from the start. In retrospect, the plot holes and flaws in character and relationship development become even more apparent. I had such a hard time rooting for the OTP by the end of it all because I couldn't invest in their relationship. It felt so rushed and shallow -- two strangers who just happened upon each other one day, and the next day, BAM, they were in love. Although it was chock full of romantic moments, rarely did I feel fulfilled or convinced by their supposed "deep" love. A lot of it had to do with my personal opinion of Yang Mi's acting and her portrayal of both BQ and SS. Mark was truly phenomenal in his role and really elevated the drama to the next level for me. Had it not been for him, I might have not made it through the beginning. This is not to say that L&D does not have flaws of its own, but so far, I'm so much more invested in this couple.
i actually really enjoy these recent episodes with just LX's time as a human, learning how to take care of herself…
Completely agree with you. Her time apart from JC was actually so valuable. The time with JX was valuable. I love how they've chosen to portray her as a mortal, there's so much more maturity and self worth to her character in this arc than the last one. She was cute in both, but I didn't feel like I could truly root for them as couple until now.
Yeah, I think the Actor Who played the father did a great job. When he was young he was very handsome, I still…
He is an excellent actor! They actually have quite the chemistry, their scenes are so well acted, I can always feel the love between them. LX is lucky to have the best father figures in her life. I'm still mourning Le Bo...
I didn't see trailer. but My guess is that her mother is already dead and became a puppet of That evil Black smoke…
Yes... i was wondering about that. Why would the queen allow Zhong Hao to be there too, and why wouldn't she know about her adopted daughter being locked up in a cage? Something's up for sure, it's just super confusing. I hope she's not dead. LX deserves to at least meet her once.
Anyone else bawl their eyes out watching that father/daughter interaction in 31? Also, I think I'm in love with A-mo. I hope LX retains a part of her after this mortal arc is over. Everything about her is just darling. Can you really blame JX for falling for her too? And her new wardrobe!! JC has great taste haha. Her current looks are my fav.

Are you guys referring to her mother in the most recent episode? 32? She seemed like herself to me... she hates JC's guts though, thinking he killed LX, which is so sad to me. Why do we think she dies? Here I was thinking she was probably going to become one giant obstacle in the way of the two of them once LX comes back.
