did i skip or something while watching ep 5, on the last preview in episode 4 yeon so apologies to choi woong…
she apologized when they were sitting in the bar. the scene in preview ( where woong walked past her ) didn't make it to final cut and they often do this.
2 ep in and this totally exceed my expectation! i look forward more in the thrilling mystery part than the romance, watching the plot there will be many things to reveal! so excited for next week ππΌ
I watched two first episodes out of curosity as I was aware of the ongoing controversies and I have to admit I'm…
Thanks for sharing your opinion in respectful way!
As someone asked perspective from people who lived through the era. I want to share my experience. My country also went to similiar event in 90s. Democratic movement to fight corrupt goverment. It was a horror tragedy, people got kidnapped, tortured, and died. It was traumatic event for a lot of people. The government even also published a fake video for people to watch to hide the truth behind the massacree.
Did I live through that? No, I was born in the same year of the tragedy. But in 2019, when I was a university student. The history repeated. Students made a mass protests against the government this time to change law. It wasn't as horrific as the 90s riot. The event went peaceful at first, but suddenly the police went firing tear and gas cannons. They accused the students for being anarchist. When actually it was their side who started the fire. Some students went into hiding in the neighborhood and some got kidnapped ( again ). Keep in mind 2019 was already a modern era, so things got exposed and revealed more quickly than in the past.
To put things into perspective of this drama. I also wouldn't want my country to make romantic story about perpetrator "spy" student ( when in fact, there was none ) and the student activist while showing how 'cool' the police doing their job by the books. Especially when the past government made a whole propaganda video before.
I have watched Snowdrop and admired the effort staff have put into it. Though I could understand korean side a lot and their reasons are valid.
Knetz said if this was a real NSA agent, he would've grabbed the housemother, dragged her out and beaten her up…
People refer to YoM because it has a fictional character and same setting as well, but their purpose is focusing on the aftermath of the uprising and how the event transformed the lives of many traumatized people and how they would find it difficult to love freely and live happily. The actual event scene is pretty good enough for me.
1987 on the other hand is based on real figure and victim of the demonstration. Also I recommend you to watch "A Taxi Driver" first before "1987" according to the history timeline :)
This comment section is... messy... but no one, and Iβm talking no one is talking about the beautiful cinematography…
I love the first panning scene on dormitory! They put a lot of effort on the sets and props in the dorms too. The fashion seems interesting for 80s, I only get bothered by the ML clothing, he looks like he comes from 2020 lol

I agree! Also have you watched "1987 When the Day Comes"? You should check the movie as the story is based on the actual event and has real accuracy to the tragedy.

i think they will go to that route. tho the portrayal of NSA here seems to be a problem among knetz rn ( as the drama is downplaying their brutality with them listening to the housemother )

oooh interesting,, so you mean Lee Kang Moo ( Jang Seung Jo's character ) actually made up stories and lied to his coworker in the plot right? The cinematography in that scene indeed looks iffy.
Link, please? I hope I can copy-paste it somewhere to translate it π
I think he truly wanted them to reunite and he had also fun filming it.
about him liking Yeonsoo, im not sure as I had a theory about his crush on Choi Woong too lol, but still love triangle!
tho i believe his arc would be more about him resolving his problem w his mom and settle his enviousness towards choi woong + his junior has got a crush on him
Can anyone give me an unbiased opinion on the first episode and the acting of FL. As this is her first drama I…
FL did a good job for her first time in acting, also because her character has no complicated personalities ( she seems happy go lucky girl ), for Hyeyoon, shes got pretty big screen time and she has quite important role to the plot :)
I am from Indonesia btw!
