mr. queen is in joseon setting and due to historical reason ( confucianism belief, King has negative view about it, economic crisis, etc), their accessories became more simple, we hardly see earring in joseon setting unless for wedding scenes ( which is still quite rare ).

there is nothing alike with both drama you mentioned, if we compare it to drama it has similiar vibe with Revenant! for movie maybe The Wailing

it would be the second one! it is giving eerie and intimidating vibes more rather than jumpscare. it is already a good horror movie, but we would love it more if we know korea history better!

it is pretty clear the older bro is really gay as they show several scenes of his difficulty, even we already see his past bf and current lover in just 2 ep 😆

no twist, it is just the way it is. male lead always has been jihan. there is no second ml for main couple in the story, dohan is more like "supporting" male lead since the start and he is gay.

it is elephant in the room, how rich families got to live overseas and "overcome" tragedy-- because they were once perpetrator, working for the colonizer, and torturing their fellow bloods 🤫 i love how Exhuma brings out this history and carry patriotic messages for us- i wish my country is brave enough to write these kind of stories..

That is only the beginning, talking about the main villain now ( feel free to skip this if you don't believe in supernatural cases )

i didn't remember if they mention what type of demon the main villain is, looking from its face it looks like "Oni" ( quite common ghost to comes out in these japanese horror stories )
Though that is not the point as i want to bring up ITS ABILITY to turn into fire ball lmao 😂😂😂 not because it is funny ( it is not funny at all in the movie, rather it is intimidating and quite *spine*chilling 🤣 ). I feel like I read a lot of horror manga however I have never seen that fire ball one but.... I want to share how my country has the same fire ball demon! the visualization is so similiar that i gasped "OH! they have this kind of demons too"- this fire ball demon here is also considered "strong enough to kill humans" that we normal people is commended to avoid them if we see it flying-- it is also interesting the way the character in Exhuma defeats it also share some resemblance to "local legend" here.

++ i almost forgot the sleep paralysis part! i love how they capture it, how the spirit "randomly" standing on our body because that is how random sleep paralysis "caused" by ghost.. i remember my friend getting one cause some sadako-like ghost sitting on her

just watched this movie on theatre, overall 9 from me, missing out 1 star because there was several hint about the overall plot from the start and i got to guess them because i usually follow these "kind" of stories- but it is not a problem at all and i must say, they made a good trailer because it was different than what I first thought when i saw the teaser

im going to mark spoiler below to share some trivia about the "supernatural" here ( from perspective as someone who believe in these culture, tradition, and share a bit of history )

just finished 2 episodes, this one is definitely a must watch, it is just starting but i can see this one is a great adaptation, they enhance the plot, giving the characters much detailed backgrounds, complex personality, and the most important : not two dimensional.

i remember i only scroll through a lot of chapters for the manhwa because i can't stand the three main character's personalities 😂 im glad the screenwriter really work for the drama adaptation, they improve so much and so many great lines already in the early episodes- now i can relate and have a bond with the characters ( especially ah jung!! )

i already read the manhwa years ago and wow i love how jeon jongseo brings out the character, way more memorable and stronger than the manhwa

i respect yujung for having a calm conversation despite changjin's behavior, the way she deliver her feeling is so mature compared to changjin ( edit : compared to all the casts tbh 😂 and she is the youngest woman under the roof )

also i hope she gets away from kwangtae, she obviously reject him and really show that she is uncomfortable, BUT DAMN kwangtae can't read the room at all. when it is just juwon, yujung, and him in the living room, the awkwardness fill in the room 😭
