This could've been an interesting drama if the revenge plot wasn't so shallow...what if the FL built a S&P 500 comp while in the US, blowing her enemies' market cap to hell. Instead of targeting another woman who's also at the mercy of men? can't really cheer for a character like FL because the logic is wrong and simple-minded when she's supposed to be a badass. Just finished this..I feel bad for all the women who got thrown into her revenge plot. ML should've just killed himself. Why kill the poor wife who needed a mental eval? I know she wasn't liked, but it's clear that she's a result of abusive parents and enablers around her. At times her behavior and personality were on par with the adulterous bitch... Not happy with this show. I dont think I could ever root for a storyline that pushes the adulterer as the winner. It just feels wrong and unsatisfying since the revenge wasn't necessary. Plus, the initial character and world-building for the FL and ML fell apart when the things that mattered the most to them became obsolete

Understandable...however the enemies have now evolved into something wayy stronger than the hammers. Which is why the older hunters are being wiped out left and right. Leaving the younger gen without any type of guidance and weapon progression.

This story has great potential, but I dont understand how the political setting relates to these girls' individual story besides the blaring theme of "here is what happens to women in the world of patriarchy".
To be honest; this should've been shot as a docuseries "Tales of ____ Dynasty Women or Tales of Two Girls" The windfalls these girls went to were too miracualous as if they were the only ones going through continous hardship wereas the townspeople are the onlookers. Which makes this series disjointed.
this is my favorite show at the moment, beating out all c-dramas released this past month. In episode 4 I know the fl was holding her breath at the last scene lol

Hmm, I understood the humor in the first three episodes... but now we no longer get dialogues from the FL that break the 4th wall by episode 9. If you start that type of narration in the story, why not keep it? Now the FL is immersed in the script that she didn't want to be a part of and it's unenjoyably fake lol.

I made it to Esp 24 and this is where I had to bow out.... The first 16/17 esps were flawless... as soon as we approached 18,19,20.. This show became something else, the storyline became disjointed with half assed plot fillers, holes, and unnecessary drama that doesn't naturally flow into the storyline.
Writers, this is where you end the season or the first half of a drama. Why throw together rambly plotlines of a story to hit 30+ episodes if it doesn't showcase your studio's best work?
I'm currently finishing up S2. S2 was written better than S1-- I guess S1 world-building outshined the progression of the actual storyline and I was getting frustrated. I've noticed that screenwriters no longer drag the plot out so much for 1 major conflict or grand event since 2021; which is probably the reason why I like the pacing of S2 with varying conflicts.
LLTG was the first show that came to mind because of the similar theme amongst the ML characters paired with palace politics, the corruption, the cheeky moments etc. Both shows take you on a journey of self which is my favorite type of C drama. Granted we didn't get as much FL pov in JOL like LLTG but that's okay -- since we had her mother's story explained to us in S1 we know her situation. I have no more complaints hehe.
I still wished that season-released dates were a bit closer so we wouldn't forget so much of the plot while waiting.
of course not.. theres nothing wrong with expanding the series into something bigger. This is the first time I've personally watched a thriller comedy like this with Korean folklore intertwined. Shoot if Viki can work with Ryan Coogler on a part 2,3,4 or a spin off ... It will be great. Something fresh and new for thriller watchers globally
