Title Love in the Clouds
I'm with you. Just finished watching it in 2x after struggling to watch it for 3 months. But the problem for me…
Omg thank you ik I was not bugging once they had her change into a courtesan from this unbeatable man to seduce the ml after getting beaten up and poisoned or whatever by the ml ik the show was gonna be straight poo. Misogynist garbage laced with fake girl boss rubbish. I just wasn’t in the mood to continue, I felt it would continue that way. True strength cannot lead to such compromise. Men never or barely ever have to do the whole seduction thing for their lives I was just wondering if it would stay as rubbish as it started and evidently it seems so 😂

So the assumption that a Chinese romance drama is predominantly watched by women is misogynistic, not the fact that they made the fl have to seduce the ml to save her life cool 😂 I can summarise and critique what I want to critique especially if it stems from the rubbish a woman has no choice but to seduce a man to get something and then when she gets it he’s mad. I don’t need to watch the shit to get the premise. And most of the weird things I mentioned are summaries of what literally happened if you enjoy it or see it differently doesn’t make the summary incorrect. That’s the point of a summary.

Title Love in the Clouds
Ignoring your misrepresentation of the premise, why is being a dance courtesan a bad moral teaching? Are you confusing…
Look okay my point is merely that of all the ways to tell stories of women that are initially capable making her seduce him to get something from his is overplayed it’s old its degrading. Regardless of the comedic elements or the fact that they did not completely make her submit to him. It’s a poor start. The constant reoccurrence of having women in tv shows seduce a man to get something stems from a misogynistic premise. Just because I am also offended by it doesn’t make it false. Again the whole a woman sleeping to the top stems from this. This show isn’t anything new or bright and that albeit small element of her seducing him regardless of the comedy or context or flipping technicality is dead and dull. It’s overdone. Why can’t shows have women just be strong why must there always be a caveat. Of all the stories about women to tell of all the ways to tell stories about women whether y’all like it or not. Such an old worn little “contextually padded” foundation is dullllll and derivative. And comes from a misogynistic fundamental. The poor moral teaching comes from the constant yeah seduce a man to get something is that not a poor moral teaching. Women do not have to be dancers or open sexually to men in order to retrieve something that does not have to be the constant fall back. It’s soooo old.

Ummm, you’re actually missing the entire context 😭 Ming Yi was born with spiritual veins, while Ji Bozai…
I’m metaphorically summarising the rubbish overused misogynistic plot u guys seem to be dying over. Again regardless of whatever context u birds want to use the start is poo. The whole her slipping into his bed to seduce him into giving her an antidote is weak loool what is ur argument that it is some sort of feminism that a women can only seduce a man to get something? Look if u like that weak shite it’s honestly your own. But don’t act like her being a prostitute archetype is some complex newly done character. It’s archaic and sexist if you want to open a book. It bleeds into our society now the whole she slept her way to the top stems from stupid old rubbish like this. There is no specific plot point lol it’s almost as if u didn’t watch it 😭😭 im summarising the general theme of the first episode.

I’m saying it’s rubbish because it’s reaffirming a used up misogynistic trope. I’m saying that just because it’s highly rated doesn’t mean it’s good. Girl you want to say that because I think this misogynistic slop is bad that I think women r stupid even tho just 52k ppl like it looool peak. Abeg it’s ur own if u like this slop doesn’t make it not a tired misogynistic overused trope.

lol complex characters? What is complex about the boringly overdone prostitute archetype. There is nothing complex about a story causing a woman to degrade herself in order to start a romance or get something from a man. It is a moral failing women are much more capable than just being able to open their legs to get something from a a man. She is strong but she cannot fight? Is she smart? Does she not have allies? There is nothing complex about reducing a woman to a character that is positioned to seduce a man to get what she wants ever. it’s wholly pathetic. Regardless of what irrelevant context moves you. The assumption that such a task makes a female character complex is also a failing. Women are much more and can be written to be more.

Bruh the fact that a lot of women like it does not attest to its quality. There is a lot of female loved tv shows that is straight patriarchal slop. The fact that they created a male presenting woman who is strongest? and then is beaten and poisoned by the ml and then all of a sudden she is then turned into a prostitute archetype to seduce the ml to save her life is enough for me. Technical context can save it for any girl that likes slop like that that’s their own again doesn’t make it less rubbish.

Mary sue character? I’m not slut shaming her lmaooo the insinuation that a woman must seduce a man to get something is decades old misogynistic rubbish and terribly overdone. A simplistic way to reduce it. I’m summarising the rubbish first episode. That is what happened. Again if u like overdone misogynistic tropes that’s ur own. It is old. It is degrading. There are 100s of female stories to tell 100s of ways for women to get things from men without having to seduce them. Again, creating context to justify a rubbish plot doesn’t make it less rubbish and degrading.

Bruh. Her friend dies she’s loses a promotion she worked hard for. Her man didn’t tell her that she wasn’t going to get it and she’s the red flag lmao grieving people are allowed to clam up. She’s unreasonable once whilst he’s unreasonable literally all the time.

Yo there can be whatever context there is to make the woman justifiably weaker than the man on the surface or not. But my initial point was starting the drama with having her be beaten by him and then turned into a female dancer to seduce him is weak, overdone and degrading. Whatever technicality’s or context y’all use to justify the story so it’s enjoyable is your own. It’s still degrading.

Okay. My summary is still correct. They have taken an initially strong male presenting woman and turned her into a dancer to seduce the male lead so she can save her life. If that’s what u like that’s what u like. It’s still pathetic and lame and a terribly overdone trope. Just because there’s stupid technicalities that she has to do this and she is technically stronger than him or something doesn’t mean they have not made the foundation of the relationship weak. She has to now submit and seduce him it’s lame and degrading. And come to find out he’s then mad at her for trying to save her life and she feels bad? Idk I never got that far. It’s like wholly lame.

Just started and it already smells does she ever actually beat him in a fight or is the power imbalance as terrible the whole time. Wdum she is this strong man unbeatable by any, but then beaten and turned into a dancer to seduce him so she can save her life how horrible. Also really bad moral teaching for women 😂

Her female characters are exceptional and real. Just such beautiful characterisation of how girls and women can be without any of the needless weakness to appeal to men! 👏👏👏

Title Girl from Nowhere the Reset
If they're really going for the whole 'multiverse of Nanno' concept, then I hope they'll make a season for a male…
I feel like having a super powered karmic entity as a woman an anomaly and very important turning nanno into a man is I feel more generic there’s a bunch of male powerful characters everywhere. in addition to the female attributed personality (sass) she brings to her ‘justice’? a man could never properly replicate that and that’s a foundational part of nanno. nanno being a man would dull most of what makes her nanno. plus other shows can and do deal with the issues toxic masculinity brings to men… but I see wanting expansion. it’s just that nanno like said is an anomaly type character already because she is a woman.
