I think it's important that the leads who'll portray SY and WYF has to have about the same age, appearance-wise.…
Itās going to take strong actors to do this wellāactors who are good at showing deep emotions in their facial expressions. The story has a lot of quiet pain that needs to be portrayed with skill by both leads.
I honestly disagree with the people that say Victor Ma couldn't be the Sang Yan of the novel. I read it and I…
Same. People have different sides. Victor Ma could totally pull off sexy, caring, moody, sensitive, warm, kind. He could totally be Wen Yi Fanās rock. Really looking forward to this drama. Hope they do the story justice. Itās going to take strong actors to do it well. Actually, a Jing Bo Ran type would also be good as the ML, but heās a bit too old maybe. Heād be great in the role though.
They changed the leading lady. Noooo, not her! I donāt think sheās the right fit. Theyāve also changed the leading man to Song Wei Long. He looks the part. He certainly is handsome enough and can play the moody but caring and sensitive ML character very well. But, I think Victor Ma would add depth and maturity to the role because heās older and weāve seen how great he was in āHidden Love.ā I would love to see the sensitive, sexy side of Victor Ma.
Ok in the end he said he liked her freshman year, was he speaking of her college freshman year or her high school…
My personal opinion is that he was a bit smitten with her even when she was 17. He in no way crossed the line back then, but I do think the seeds were planted for him to fall in love with her when she grew up. He found her sweet and kind and endearing and cute and funny right from the start. Again, nothing improper implied at all here! But, yes, he definitely had affection for her early on. He was amused by her bickering with her big brother Sang Yan and her mischievous academic shenanigans. He was attentive to her as a kid because her family had been so kind to him, who had lived such a hard life. Itās easy to see how he would come to love that whole family especially the sweet and sincere Sang Zhi.
But, he started to see her as a woman and started falling in love with her when they met again her freshman year of college outside the karaoke. The novel spoke about his noticing her pretty legs and figure that night. He saw her with new eyes in that moment. Just my personal opinion.
Very impressed with the way the Director captured all the steamy parts of the novel in such a tasteful yet swoon-worthy manner. The love scenes were so modest and sweetly done, yet still gave me butterflies. Really pretty to watch. Very warm and loving.
her her family is goals! the sibling rivalry is just š
Agree! There was sibling rivalry and bickering, but there was so much love there too. Sang Yanās parents taught him well and insisted he look after his little sister. Sang Yan became an outstanding young man as a result. When he got a girlfriend (in āFirst Frostā), he knew how to take care of her very well because he had learned to do so growing up. The skills we learn in our families with our siblings teaches us how to be good to all people, especially our life partner, later on. Really nice themes in both āHidden Loveā and āFirst Familyā novels. The Sang family were good people who produced kind children, Sang Yan and Sang Zhi, who knew how to love well.
YouTube and Instagram as well. They definitely went overboard with the spoilers and BTS. They should have released all that after the drama ends so that we could continue enjoying the drama even after itās all over.
Pretty much, yes. The drama was pretty true to the novel, tweaked a bit here and there. The novel is just more…
Probably PG-13 by Western standards. The drama is rated G on Netflix. So, Iām surprised by the kiss we got in episode 21. Thatās a PG-13 kiss, in my opinion.
