I think in the end he cared about it like you said because she sneaked behind his back and tried to steal the potion especially after he had given her so many chances to share what was the matter. I think he just felt betrayed in that moment especially after he had let all his walls down and gave himself to her. Yet, she was still keeping secrets. I think it was about more so than the Golden Millet itself.

Same. But, she could tell he was hyper-sensitive about people approaching him only for the Golden Millet. It just pained her too much to disappoint him. But, yeah, she should have just confessed. He would have moved heaven and earth to save her. Everything he did for her with those Love Ducks and that Love Rock 🪨 thing proved that. I think the bigger issue however was that Ming Xian was an enemy of his nation. She didn’t dare reveal her true identity—many political issues and turmoil at stake with such a revelation.

With all the lying Ming Yi does, can’t help but think Shangguan Qian might be a cousin or something 😄. After all, they do look alike.

Even still, fan or bow, or even some other technique—some similarity should have been there that he might’ve recognized. Or, then again, perhaps his time in the arena with her was too brief to draw such parallels.

Who, Situ Ling? Ji Bozai fought in the arena directly with her. He’s a very observant guy—seems like he would have discerned some sort of similar technique between Ming Yi and Ming Xian sooner. Instead, he only saw her through very narrow lenses (rose-colored ones as another commenter said) for the longest time. He’s finally starting to see her and accept her as she really is—liar, loyal protector, and all.

The separation—no sooner than he put her out, he brought her right back 😂. But, yes, it did give him some clarity.

I have mad respect for Ji Bozai. But, if we’re being honest, he’s slow as hell. Took him forever to put two and two together. Situ Ling figured it out in like episode 1 (I exaggerate obviously, but you get my point). Anyway, we here…finally 😅😅.
