ML is not/was not married. Rewatch ep 2 to learn about the wife-murder. I need to rewatch myself to understand who that couple was. They have some sort of connection to the Rongs that has not been revealed yet.

It’s supposedly the reincarnated ancestor who is blessed with innate knowledge all about teas and tea harvesting who is deemed the legitimate leader of the Rong clan. A myth/superstition, but one that the Rong matriarchal family has successfully used for centuries to maintain their power and superiority for centuries as the “Tea King”—owner of 300 plantations who even provide imperial tea for the emperor.

We don’t know yet. The secret seems to be related to WanWan, the mentally-impaired Sixth Sister since he stole WanWan’s nanny-caretaker’s bracelet that said “Lan” on it. We don’t know if that magistrate (who was previously LJL’s assistant) is a good guy or bad guy yet.

How is LJL deranged? As a magistrate, he’s cunning and arrogant, overzealous but with good intentions, determined to root out corruption and wrongdoing. He doesn’t seem deranged at all.

I need to rewatch ep 2 to remember the details of that case. That seems to be the linchpin.

She thinks that she is keeping him safe by withholding this information. But, admittedly, it was a pretty dumb move—odd for someone as smart as she is. Makes her look like she had something to hide. How will he trust her now?

Ep 12–Wow, just wow. 😮 This drama is a solid 10 for me. Never a dull moment. Twists galore. Insane chemistry. A visual feast. Checks all my boxes.
