I’m a vertical-drama watcher too. They’re so hot and nuts and crazy 🤪. I suspected as much too. This drama is kinda like a makjang—I think that’s the right word.

The weak kisses in this drama bothered me too at first, but when you follow the story you will come to understand why the ML character (Haoming) was holding back his passion. The story is really well-done and got me thoroughly hooked even though I love a passionate skinship scene. Perhaps in the latter half of the drama we will see real kisses between the leads when their romance becomes real as well. In the first half of drama, it’s based on lies so the kisses couldn’t possibly be real or passionate. However, even if we don’t get the hot kisses in the end, the drama stands on its own. Some dramas are so good that they don’t even need hot kisses to add spice. This is one of those dramas. It’s that good. (But, yeah, hot kisses are nice too ☺️😏💋.)

The ethnic clothing designer seems to be the same actress from “Hidden Love”—the bubbly, flirty college dorm mate who had a boyfriend and threw herself the birthday party.

Same, I didn’t see chemistry at episode two either, too much antagonism between them, but the writers are trying to force it nonetheless.

Yeah, I ranted a bit about the ML and some dumbass commenter told me “what you expect him to do, caress and console her after she injured him? we’ve got THIRTY TWO episodes to go”. I wanted to tell her, “I know that, stupid cow.” But, I didn’t. I held back. But, yeah, the ML was pretty intense with the FL the way he beat her up in episode 2. I was surprised at how graphic it was, his kicking a woman like that. But, she did get him back somewhat later on. She beat his ass too. But, it’s a lot. The level of violence against the FL caught me off guard for this type of drama, especially from someone like Chen Zhe Yuan. I never pictured him in a role like that.

He did a complete 180 when his lie was revealed. Sweet, doting personality to Xu Yan previously then a harsh tyrant the next. Blackmailing his wife into submission is pretty scary in my book. Ordering her to smile on cue, perform on cue—again, scary. You wouldn’t be scared to be married to a guy like that? Cunning in the way he planned his control over his wife—scary. Being a cunning businessman might be necessary, but a cunning husband—no way.

Really good drama

They are working so hard for us, trying to get it just right.

Shadow Love ep 5. Fated Hearts ep 2.

I’m trying to give this drama a chance, but I’m kinda thinking I will end up dropping it. It’s not quite reeling me in or getting me hooked.

I’m the opposite. I became his fan after “Hidden Love.” But, have I trouble enjoying the FL’s acting. She’s highly-regarded though. I know a lot of people like her. She’s quite pretty. The visuals are on point.
